Vyle, you badass you!
I Have been painting this week after drawing through a couple sketch books, I think sketching thumbnails is helping my paintings progress.

The Insane Lemur> Man, you're sure making some leaps. Keep up the awesome work!
Daryl> as always; beautiful
Vyle> same goes to you. stunning.
brokencow> great work. in the second, the image is awesome, but the horse and figure take away, because of their... flatness, i suppose? Or maybe because the whole image is more detailed then them. :/.
Glad to have sijun back.
Something(s) from last week.

celvec: Thanks. Where do you get patterns like that? Do you do them yourself now and then?
escdesign: Nice strokes.
Sparth, I'm so looking forward to your book. I'd give away all my other books just to get yours I hope it will be available on amazon europe... |

Seems like we lost some months ...
Matthew, even if you try to make fast and simple ones, try to get it right!
Your fast ones doesn't work yet. Concentrate on whats important and don't stop, just because time is over.
In example you have to establish a clear value-scheme - now its grey and black - its so easy to make it better by adding some white lightspot. The blue doesn't work that well because you forget to think about its value.
Another point is - dont just add some weired, irritating brushstrokes on the ground - on their edges you get too much contrast where it works against your main focus. Its ok if you just know you gonna smooth that area later, but if you wanne try to hit the line with very fast speedpaintings get rid of them - just smudge them as i did in my overpaint, or paint directly with soft-edge brushes - and you will get a better result!
This selfportrt i did some days ago:

thanks Annis. I really enjoy the test for echoish feel of the massiv lightbeam volcano and its smooth surroundings, same goes for the loner guy, gives a sense of adventure.
>sparth- very cool in your use of drawing edge!
>Duracel- like the self portrait, its blurryness comes together so well.
When I dont have a clear idea of what to paint, it never works out. I want to work out some motorcycle people drawings from ref now cause noodling and trying to guess at unknown anatomy is like wrestling with a rabid creature.

Beautiful works guys and gals!
It's been forever since I last posted here, but I guess the resurrection of Sijun calls for a party (and some acrylics! ).
Some Spooge paraphrases / copies:
Aaand an analogue matte-esque Turner:
