The server hosting the Sijun Digital Art Forums (and the gfxartist.com site) was hacked almost two weeks ago. The person somehow gained access to the MySQL database system and screwed up Sijun's forum database and gfxartist's advertising database.
Unfortunately, the most recent Sijun backup didn't work, so we've had to use an earlier backup from July. On one hand, it means we've lost a lot of threads and posts in Speedpainting, but on the other hand, for a while there we did think we were going to have to use a backup made when Sijun switched from UBB to phpBB2, back in about 2002.
We got off relatively lightly.
So, a few steps back but nothing we can't walk again. If you find anything you posted in Speedpainting missing, please post it again. Missing threads can be recreated, and we should be able to get Sijun back to where it was without too much trouble.
Better than ever. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

I just want to say that I'm glad the Sijun forums are back. I'm sure most people didn't know how much they'd miss this place until it went away.
Thanks for getting things worked out. |

Hey at least all the 'Archives' are intact. That was the first thing I was worried about when I heard about possible data loss.
Other threads can be re created tho. |
