I need help thinking up an idea for a splash image. I am redesigning my website, but not quite sure what to make for some matching art work.
Here is the website layout: http://www.createdbycheney.com/testc/index.cfm
Is the layout bad art, lacking of originality, or not very functional? What would make for a good sort of splash image to match what I have so far as far as concepts and subjects? I have not made any art in almost three years, so any input would be greatly appreciated. _________________ http://prettydiff.com/ |

u know your hatching doesn't marry up right?
background is a little on the large size (kb) imagine someone who's on a 56k modem trying to view the site? prolly close it before it had a chance to load..
the dull colouring makes me feel uninspired..
oh and splash pages are dead.. |

The background pattern is off when the browser window is displaying an odd number of pixels. Do you know of a script that will dynamicly display different background images based upon a factor of total pixels displayed by the browser? _________________ http://prettydiff.com/ |

I think a good spash image should contain some of your best work packed in a neat fashion in order to attract the visitor. Wet their appetite, make them to want to see more. One popular thing to do is to have one of your images being displayed randomly for every visit or for every day.
I experiment a lot on my site. Right now I put crops of some of my images on one pic. Last month I had 3 framed images hanging on a wall as my splash. I plan to do something different next month. And always study the logs....
Nice site design so far. _________________ Fantasy art, Sci-fi, Surreal, Space and Abstract art - check out my gallery! |
