Man what a brutal Game. The AI is amazing. They run for cover, throw grenades, team up, run when wounded, yell for each other.. alot smarter... they dont just engage you straight on unless they have to.
the violence is almost too much tho... but the location damage is unparalleled. where the bullet hits is where you see the hole.
the levels are a bit boring but the actual gameplay more than makes up for it. and you can walk run crouch and crawl. (not in multi tho ) all in all a good game so far.. |

in the demo, the level design was... unfair.
architecture was nice, but the enemy spawned unrealistically (they'd pop up in rooms I'd cleared, while I was in the only entrance to the room...) and in the ship level in the demo, they don't need to even hit an alarm to sound the alarm, and it is impossible to do it all the way stealth. AI itself seemed decent, but the implementation of enemy respawns and linear paths in levels made it frustrating in the demo. |

i'm with vesuvius... i couldn't stand the fact that the enemies would simply pop up behind you after you've cleared an area in the demo... does the full game do this, too? coz that would be the main thing stopping me from getting it... |

I just picked this up yesterday. I haven't got too far into the single player, but the multiplayer is a riot. No duel weapons in multi though.. that's kind of a bummer, but they would be too easy to get. |

single player isn't fun, it feels like a chore. the 'stealth' isn't fair (at 60+ feet from the enemy, crouched and leaning around a corner, at night in the dark he can see you) and in 'stealth' the enemies can sound the alarm even if you've destroyed all alarm panels, because the alarm goes off when the enemy sees you, they don't need to sound anything. some enemies are invincible (the early mansion level has a few manning an outdoors gun post) and the infinite respawning in levels does not add infinite fun, but infinite frustration, lack of realism, and infinite annoyance. weapon innacuracy does not add realism when it is less accurate for you then for the enemy, which it often feels like, and even if you (on the ship level in the demo and full version) manage to use stealth all the way until you have to move a crate using a crane, they magically set off the alarm, even if all enemies within 70 feet are dead.
SOF 1, although the last enemy was unfair, was in general very fun due to the over the top nature and the rambo-like ability of your character, but if you can't hit an enemy once at 20 feet with an AK even after unloading a clip, that strips the game of any fun at all... |

I dunno.. Im ejoying it.. the Ak is a great weapon.. try switching to burst fire or shingle shots...
The AI popping outta nowhere was a little annoying in the demo but I havent noticed any of that in the full game yet.
I like it, multi rocks and the random missions is cool too. try using words like your nickname or sisters boyfriends uncles name or somethind as a seed for the generator. kinda cool. |

Online play is fun, randomized levels is really fun
Single player and bots is terrible. Enemies either are uber-bots, or so stupid they throw a grenade the wrong way when they see you. As said earlier, even if your in the middle of the night, in a dense field of bushes, peeking slightly around a corner, the enemy will see you and shoot directly at you... it's insane. Stick with multiplayer and it's all fun though |

I got bored of it and started playing AvP2, completed Alien, now working on Marine, it's fun SoF2 has good graphics and the hit location is great, but it was REALLY boring imo. I'll finish AvP2 and keep kicking butt in TFC |

SOF 2 is just not fun in single player, in the later levels you have to enter rooms through choke points with 4 or 5 well armed guards on the other side, behind cover, throwing grenades at you and some enemies randomly respawning behind you. you need luck to advance, and it is TEDIOUS. it's linear in most levels, and you are limited to 1 entry way usually, which means there is no outsmarting or flanking, and the enemies are omniscient, you can't hide from their view, so it just is a horribly unfun single player experience. MP is fun, I agree with that, but SP is one of the worst SP games I've EVER played, and I've played almost every SP FPS ever made (aside from budget shit titles like extreme paintbrawl and 'nam) |
