I think you have a great thing going in the first one. The level of design and polish there seems just right for the style it's painted in.
The second one is fun to look at, but do you 2 figures share the same horizon? The perspective seems a little off (but I'm just a kid, so feel free to disregard my critique). |

Heh, I don't doubt it - my perspective's pretty shaky.

I like them.
And I can't help but notice that the samurai isn't going to make that final blow, there's no way he can move downwards his sword ![Razz](images/smiles/icon_razz.gif) _________________ "Ever forward, my darling wind." -Master Yuppa

They are nicely rendered.
like Sampster mentioned, there's perspective issues in both pieces...some armour pieces on the horse and the rider are off in that reguard. The man on the ground in the second piece seems out of porportion also because of it. The the building on the left suffers from lack of depth, as it appears though it is standing right next to the two chracters.
I suggest that next time when you are unsure about the perspective, post some early sketches for critique first, as these could have been much stronger pieces without the easily spotted mistakes.
keep up the good work! |
