A quick one ... painted to show how a moor-forest could look like ... could need some work ... and a figure or something as focus, but i had no time, so its just some boring landscape. Wink

Speculart, great one, but i miss clear drawing in it. Try to get a focus with some hard edges, try to define some shape. Now it get lost in texture.
Here is a quick overpaint showing how you could fix this ... (still need some work on the foreground)

duracel - that's not boring..! on the contrary Smile but maybe you could use some soft edges to help focus?
misc - zow! i love it!
speculart - i agree with duracel there, but your palette for that one is really great. I just wish you'd done something with the tree-ish foreground, it looks quite incoherent compared to the rest of the work.

---i hope it's ok to post a little nudity...?

Amazing thread, it just keeps on going!

Just thought I'd post something done in Artrage 2.1 - the paid version with layers and stuff. It's a really quick pic, about 45 minutes.

What I'm enjoying about Artrage is that it has a surprisingly good feel to painting with it. I find Photoshop, and to a lesser degree Painter, has such a feeling of exact control that it is hard to break out of the crisp 'digital' look to each brushstroke. I know a lot can be done with textures overlaid on top and various techniques to fragment and break up the 'colour worms', but I always want each pic to look more analogue.

So Artrage - very limited set of tools and controls, no selections, but a very fine paint engine indeed. It has an interesting feel of randomness to painting - as if you never feel quite in control. It frustrates and amazes me in equal measure though, and like in real painting it throws up happy accidents every now and then!

Anyone else use Artrage?
