Thanks luc. I know I ask a lot of people this, but are you currently an art student at the college level?

A lot of nice pics I don't have time to comment on.

...Though I will say; it sounds like you're calling us out durace!... Razz

"this thread ain't that great inspiration to me anymore. Things repeating over the years ... still good quality, but i feel like i have learned this lesson; and the variety in here is way smaller than it might appear"

I must say, I've been feeling the need to branch out creativly and I agree with you in a way...

That said, here's something very run of mill:

Been a long time... The garden requires quite a lot of attention in spring.

FallDamage - I think your anatomy and faces are improving well. The blacklevels in some of youre landscapes remind me of a matteartist who said I should never use black in traditional media, or spooge who said you shouldn't trust photos too much. What I am trying to say is, some blacks look like they would on a mediocre photo, which is good in a photorealistic sense, but bad in a painterly sense. I think.

More comments, when I am back in the game.

Inspired by P-Rik's hovership

Duracel, P-Rik, Rainart, Luc, this thread is great!

Quick back study from the mind (out of proportion, I know) ... trying to mix colors appropriately ..

Heh, Nice pic, and I'm very guilty of that extra extra blackness, miles, as is evidenced by what follows. I've got a lot to learn, and most the time, it seems like too much.

Clearly, the value structure is off, in terms of the people in the boat as they relate to the the more distant trees.

Nice P-rik!
FallDamage >> i'm too old to go to to school my back hurts too bad ^^ (wish i could).Currently searching for a job so lots of free time. Since a friend show me the art forums i can't do anything but drawing all day Confused sort of a re-learning process from the begining. I found on internet the most valuable part i've found in school : people to share with.

Spyro, love the sihloetting

Ben, excellent

Luc- How old is too old? I'm probably too old for school too, and not as good as you are, but it doesn't stop me from entertaining the idea in the back of my head (Sept 2007??) We'll see how much I can improve between now and christmas.

Wes- I was just thinking, I haven't seen you around in a while. I miss your awesome figure drawings, now that I'm actually trying it out myself.

I always thought Dracula kept some hot women in his castle- whether or not my study conveys this is another matter...

i have to concentrate and dont just paint out of a habit ... the angel wasn't this "lets paint another cool speedy"-thing ... if you don't try to show your skillz but just focus on the painting, it'll be better.

Anyway, here is this "nothing but another cool speedy" ...

P rik, just out of curiosity, have you ever done any tutorials around color selection and value?

Luc, that drunk guy is great... have you had any illustration training, or all self taught?

Mayk, awesome

Duracel, you mean paint like you don't care?

Another study-, still didn't nail the color or the likeness of the model, and it took longer than I would have liked. I feel like I really need to ramp up my development curve, but I have no idea how.

Thanks,

Too many impressive works to mention, and I've got to get out the door for a dentist appointment in a few minutes. Obviously, I'm thrilled, as represented below...

heh, missed the reflection, but no time to fix it now.

Nice work yoshi. Good luck in the EotW

I think I'm getting tired of these, resulting in lowered quality.

Still haven't got it down though, so on we go.

Mr. Blonde: thanks! yeah I thought about the Bowie resemblance myself Smile It started out as a self portrait but then I couldnt keep away from modifying it..

Radiumflux: nah never saw it Smile watched the trailer couple of years ago and it looked a tad over the top for me.

Naglfar thanks. And that latest is just awesome.

Another Painter attempt. I wish I could pick parts of it and PS together.
