Absolutely amazing. My only criticism would be that it looks too monochromatic. Even if the character is supposed to be gray, some subtle warm and cool tones in the textures would liven it up a lot -- maybe some muted greens and reds. If the texturing isn't finished, then disregard.

But really -- that's incredible. I love it.

Yes, color is something it needs.

Here is a turnaround render with some simple animation applied:

overall that looks very good and natural. Just a couple of things pop out:

The calves appear to be flexed even when relaxed. The same goes to a lesser degree for the biceps.

There's an odd bulge on the forearms on the inner side just below the elbow. I guess those are the finger adductors, but I don't think they would bulge quite that prominently even when flexed, let alone relaxed. Overall though, good job, and what animation you have looks good. That's the really crucial bit anyway.

Thanks affected!

Yeah, he is partially made in Zbrush.

He will have a funny cap on and some ages old gas company logos over him. Such as "dinosaur oil" or something.

just the usual Very Happy

-----
The texture & shape of the overalls is now done, the dynamics still need more work, as the animation shows. The fur did some oddities in the last render, but I am going to redo the fur from scratch later on. The still render shows the fully finished garment. The animation included is awful, but again I had no reference for the movement. For the final animation, I will videograph proper reference material to get the animation right for once.

Animation:

(if the animation opens to a weird page with text & thumbnails, scroll to the bottom of that document.)

Whoa! So this is the ape-golem you told me about some months ago in the bar. Did my drunken sketching help you at all? Razz

Nice!

edit: oh I just noticed hes has very odd looking triceps... infact they seem to be upside down.

The sketch might have been of some help. But not too much Very Happy

----
I widened the too thin shoulder straps and got the cloth physics to function rather well. Also, I worked on the skin tone & finally rigged the fingers. I removed the buggy fur (I broke it somehow). I am now nearly done. I just need to make some facial morph and controls for the fingers. Then, animation time!
----

Geting there... All crits are appreciated.

Wow, that's very nice! As for crits, I liked the furry version better and the skin could use some color variation but that's probably just me Wink Can't wait to see the final animated version!

Ahaa, ok.

Have you tried painting some slight fur on the base texture? It might give even better results. That way you sort of have two layers of fur which looks more realistic.

Btw. This is what I meant about the color variation in the skin, see how many different colors there are:

It would look something like this on your character:

Hope this helps

hey, thanks for the overpaint. I will surely tune the skin more. COlor variation will surely be added.

Ei pysty.

----
Created the eyes and added the look direction blendshapes to the eyelids. Did not get too much done, I have been lazy, but the thing is already showing a lot of characher with those spanking new eyes of him. I like the new skin.
