anyways i was going to enter this into the anime north design contest but i ran out of time, plus i experienced burn out
however im submitting it to this new magazine called www.animeiku.com, apparently they need people to submit articles, artwork, whatever and you could win stuff!!!................i like stuff......
any crits are welcome, yes perspective is off......what about structure?
The girl is suppose to be walking up stairs and is at the top already so u can see down on the street level. I used toronto's chinatown and hk as references
Also I hardly know perspective, so I was thinking of using 3ds Max to do the technical aspect of a picture, does anybody see any long term implications by relying on such a method?

Hi there,
You've done alot of work...keep pushing to finish it up! If I may, I think I see what you're going for, and I would like to make a couple of suggestions. First, I think the stairs and area the girl are standing on needs to be visible in the bottom of the image...you can achieve this by raising your horizon line closer to the top of the image. This will give you a looking down angle, and will also give you more of the street in the background. Also, consider shifting the girl left or right...I think it will make your composition more interesting.
IMHO, I would not use 3DSMax to provide your lay in for this...personally, I would lay this out in traditional linear 2 point perspective. I could offer you some help there, if you need it. Just let me know.
You've already got great depth, color and atmosphere going on that I like. Anyway, there's my $0.02...assuming you'll give me that much credit
Regardless, I look forward to seeing this finished! _________________ Crimson Crescent |
