A school project. It's actually going to be more of a downdrop, since the viewer will be put 3.5 metres above it in a small faux stone cave I'll be making.

I've never done anything this big (4.5x4.5 m), nor have I ever used an airbrush before... this is day 2 of working on it. I'm progressing very slowly, kind of having difficulty putting stuff down.

Off to do more work on it.

Looks interesting. Is there going to be more detail in it or is it near done? How will the viewer be put into the cave? I have a hard time imagining the cave and how someone will be put into it. Will it include a ladder and work like he's looking through a window or something totally different?

What exactly are the goals of this work? Learn how to handle an airbrush or are they more specific than that?

This is as done as it's going to get, making it more realistic would be a pretty big task at this point, and I lack time.

glitterbug: the "cave" will have a hole in the floor that you can peer through. I'm hoping to induce vertigo in the viewer, we'll see how that goes. The goals here are to just get some experience large-scale painting. I'll also need to do some 3-dimensional stuff for this course, there the point is to learn about materials etc. and to think about the interaction of 3d and 2d in set design, how light affects things etc.

Sweet, I think it turned out very nice. Too bad I can't try out the cave in real life, I would really like to.
