Mega Muffin: Yeah it works well! It's a fun tecnique... Your drawing is very mudded out ! When working something like those you can draw the contours of the shapes first and then pick the colors your going to use working inside out! And remember to keep in mind there is allways a Highlight, halftone, and a shadow...

Annis: Dont have for chatting any more busy with house renivations and work...

Quick study of my shoe...

Hey everyone,

Did not post in a while, and wanted to share some of the greatest pens I have been using over the years. I actually can only find some of these japanese one's in Tokyo town in Los Angeles downtown, they don't seem to have them anywhere else. Took a picture of the best one's I've found so far.

From left to right

This one's not done...it's a chair hanging on a high wire while juggling. I need a background but just don't know what to do. I want it to look like a circus tent...

And yeah for this one I have no idea what I was thinking...lol.

Here's another. Not really done either, but eh, idk. I wanted the chair to be peeking over her shoulder but that's kinda hard to tell right now. It started off as just a self portrait...idk why, because I was supposed to be working on my concentration, but then I added in the chair like that and changed the eyes and now they look odd.

Oh jeez, here it is already.

Got a two week lifedrawing class where you are taught to work in a method called 'sight-size' where you put your easel near the subject matter and stand well back.

the first one went pretty smoothly, but the portrait was a complete battle. (And when I sprayed it with spray it want all faint round the eyes.) Looking forward to next week's.

Capt. Fred, those are stunning! I especially like the chissled torso, if just for the nice contrast and sculpturiness...idk i just like it, lol.

So here are a couple more chairs from me! Hahaaaa well I''ve been trying to do more color, and these are the results. I bet I won't get a five. My portfolio's 2/3 done and I just don't see the stuff as being all that good. But whatever, I'm into art for it's own sake and not for AP credit. If I'm not at a high enough level I probably shouldn't skip the introductory courses anyway. And yeah at Carnegie Mellon (where I'm going next year to major in Computer Science, not Art (even though I was accepted to the art school which was a nice reassurrer that I don't suck! lol.)) you need a 5 for any credit.

annis and muff, thanks for the compliments, great drawings.

Materials - charcoal and a textured paper called 'roma' paper. Probably a brand name, i guess.
