A couple of quick things, I hope you'll consider before you get in real trouble:
Unless you have obtained copyright for those images all over the site you'll find that it may be wise to remove themuntil you do. Many artists will let you use imagery IF you ask nicely first.
Is this a paying request? |

I think the current logo fits your music perfectly. |

Something I've always wondered about posts like this...
1. Do they think that we're all just some big horde of art do-gooders dying to pounce on a (free) job offer as soon as it's posted - as opposed to them doing their own footwork and seeking out an artist they like
2. How will anyone take this band seriously if they can't be serious enough to invest money in themselves by 'hiring' a professional...
mind-boggling... _________________ "They're toys. My friends are toys, I made them..."

1) yep. they sure do.
2) uh. i don't think bands are taken seriously by merit of their logo investment. Music usually comes first. ;) _________________ QED, sort of. |

Maybe they're just a bunch of guys starting out, e.g. not big time yet, and the only people they know draw really bad.
Instead of having a truly lame logo, they figure they'll ask if someone would draw one for them.
With all the yap yap and special groups to encourage drawing, with creatures of the day, speedpainting, etc., someone who could actually use the practice as an excuse to also do something nice for someone else just might be able to spend a little of their precious time to draw something productive, eh?
Also, the people who get their panties in a gather because someone is asking for a design for free is overly full of themselves. Not everything on the planet needs to have an almightly price tag attached. Sometimes, people just do things to be nice, ya know?
Oh, yeah, if you do it for one person, they'll just be coming out of the woodwork posting requests here...uh-huh...same argument. There are more than enough of you with drawing time to kill, who it wouldn't hurt to be able to say, "yeah, I drew about 15-20 band logos last year. It was great practice, and helped some folk out." Don't you think that if any of the bands ever make it big, they'll remember the dudes who helped 'em when they were starting out?
You snarky "no" folk sure don't help with much "community" spirit, do ya?
Not only do you discourage anyone who might be naive enough to ask a favor from a bunch of people whose specialty is supposed to be illustration, you do a damn good job of discouraging anyone who might be up for the challenge by making it some godawful sin to draw a logo for free. Sheesh... _________________ Life is short. Expect nothing, enjoy everything.

How many logos do you see being posted on Sijun on a daily basis?
The message was just spam. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

spam indeed... generally when a question like that is asked on the day the person joins the forum... it's a good indicator... _________________ HonePie.com

Explain to me how giving away free work for someone else to capitalize on helps the "community" spirit...
Please enlighten us with your Utopian economics...

OK
Economics
If I were to do the Logo, I would ask the Band for a favor..maybe record a song I wrote..or call mom on her birthday and sing "Happy Birthday" to her..
There are all kinds of pay..all kinds of compensation that could be given |

I like the Happy Birthday idea. Although listening to one of their songs I'm not sure that would make my mum happy at all. |
