hi , im working on improving my techniques, it seems like i can never get any defined shapes and my colors are very watery. here are some examples , feedback?

Btw, i have never taken any art lessons and i am completly self taught so dont worry about saying what im doing wrong bluntly

Hi, Merca! (I�m wondering where you took your nickname from, hehe).
Well, I think you should define your lines. For example, in both of your paintings...I can�t tell where exactly the horizon is! Why don�t you try increasing the contrast and using more hard brushes?
Do you paint this over a previous sketch or you just sit and start painting without any reference? �Cause that�s what it looks to me!
And the most important advice: PRACTICE!!! Practice a lot. You have good technique, but you have to polish it.

thanks for replying and feedback, i basically just start from nothing and fill in color. no sketching or reference. i guess i will keep the practice up

edit: Merca for Mercatorn ( i work in a few game mods like www.insmod.net and i had worked for red orchestra before i quit, also did some custom fan stuff for day of defeat)
