On grey days like these, even the plants dream of spring.

Detail

I've been under the weather lately, and also my scanner had to be repaired, so this is the first art I uploaded this year. While I was drawing it, I heard on the news that it had rained 27 days in a row. It's been a very wet winter here. Ew.

Beautiful.

You should place some of your wonderful writing in the central portion between the two upward branches ... something about dreary weather and the hope for spring.

Nice to see another drawing from you. Sorry to hear about the weather there and how you're under it.

You also need to upgrade your scanner stat! I bet there's some nice line quality that's getting lost with that ghetto scanner of yours... Smile

Francis - Thanks! Yeah, I REALLY need a new scanner. I've got to stop spending all my spare money on videogames. Augh. I'm such a hoser.

Critical Pete - Thank you! That weather yesterday was just the pits, too. The wind came right in the window.

B0b - Thank you! I'll post more soon.

eyewoo - Now, there's an idea. I don't usually like text on pictures, but maybe I'll give it a shot.

Max Kulich - Thanks! Very Happy

Ragnarok - Ha, me too! It's been a while.

Here is another one. I don't know what got into me. Usually, I'm much sneakier about putting perverted stuff in:

Detail:

This is a crude and wanton sort of plant. It consumes other plants for sustenance.

Have you considered shading the figure? I noticed you usally shade the trees, branches, etc and leave the figures unshaded. Probably it's on purpose, just asking.

Ha, ha. No, I didn't submit to Spectrum the last few years--I'm totally broke, and don't want to waste $20. Both times I entered, I never got my free copy, anyway. Pfoo. Plus, there was the whole "blow" incident. Seriously, though, I'm not THAT bothered over that stuff. I probably will enter again when I have more money to throw away.

Ragnarok, like the other commenters, I kind of like the look of the unshaded figures. Maybe if I do a picture where the figure is more prominent, I'll shade it, though.

It's just I love the way you shade the trees. Anyway, it's your style and leaving the figures unshaded is a bit of a trademark Very Happy

See that little bird up there? He finally understands he's the last antennabird in the world.

So you have this wonderful world, populated with creepy and cool stuff. You already did a short story with it, that rat and bird.

You should start a book on your own with your world. It wouldnt need a main story, it could just be a collection of stories that all take place in your world.

You've probably thought about it before, but nobody can stop you but you. Worry about publishing after you get 20-30 pages. Or send the rat/bird story around, maybe you already have, I dont know.

I just think that there are plenty of stories to be told there and they are good enough that folks would pay for it. Smile

The tree with the bird is surprising. Such a simple image, yet it oozes mood. There's something about it that's just right.
