Has there been a resolution for this yet, becuase it's driving me up the wall. Basically, the program will crash when the scatter brush is used in conjunction with a wacom.

I found this on their help page, but I haven't been able to find any sort of resolution. Updating drivers didn't work. I'm hooked on scattering, so this is a major issue for me. Has anyone here ran into this and found a way to resolve it other going back to PS7?

I haven't experienced that problem and I do use scattering...

Wacom Intuoe 3, 4.93-3
Photoshop CS ver, 8

Perhaps it is related to your graphics card...?

I remember that a few years back my system used to completely hang when I was moving something quickly around the screen. For example, scrolling webpages with lots of images, or doing transformations with Photoshops transform/distort etc.

A really weird problem, but the solution was my graphics card was broken, there was some memory leak or something. One friend suggested changing the card, and after that I had no problems at all.

It seems that broken hardware can cause strange problems. I don't know if this is the case with your problem.

Have you tried re-installing your Photoshop?

Thanks for the replies guys, I reverted to CS1(ver8) and the problem seems to be strangely resolved.

Weirdness, and too bad, CS2 was otherwise decent.

No, I guess I will though. I'm in denial about the possibility of my GFX card going down.

Hmm, yea it doesn't happen to everybody, that's for sure, and your findings do seem to indicate that the problem may be specfic to me. Thanks for going through all that trouble to assist me here, it's really helpful of you.

I guess I'll have to take a closer look at my own settings.
