My old wacom panel allowed me to customize the curve that governs tip pressure. Since v.4.8 or so the panel will not let me adjust the curve beyond the limited presets 'soft to firm'.

I had to update my driver a while ago because my OS required it, but I REALLY want the ability to tweak that curve back. I want a more sensitive response on the low end but still want to be able to jump to opaque without much pressure. This is the sort of curve I'm looking for:

It makes a tremendous difference to have more control over brush pressure. Are we all in the same boat here or does anyone know a way around the presets in the new panel?

I dont really have alot to offer as far as your problem, but an idea. I have an Intuous (first generation intuous) and i know it has preset buttons for soft medium and first pressure sensitivity... i generally just switch around while i draw depending on what i'm going for. I dont know that that helps, and i understand what you mean and the problem you are having, but i dont have much for an answer beyond that =)

I don't have any answer for you, but I have to say that I wonder why in hell do they remove features like that? I've been dealing with some problems with the pressure, and I've been adjusting the curve to better suit my needs. Now I'm thinking about making a backup of the old driver in case I need to reinstall it - I don't want the new one if it's that shitty.

Also, if you are using Painter, you can adjust your stroke pressure sensitivity independent of Wacom settings.

Unfortunately it is.. However I am convinced that someone out there knows a workaround or something else that I don't. I have a hard time believing that wacom would be so oblivious and incorporate such a limitation in a new driver. If they did, then I suspect it's a backward attempt to make the control panel more average user friendly.

it already had a user friendly side, u had to select advanced options to tweek the settings..

its probably being added to the new interface and will be available in the next driver..
