Roundeye: a federal agency formed called the Advanced Research Projects Agency, a new group within the Department of Defense.
ARPA's primary mission was to invent a satellite to rival Sputnik, the Soviet Union's technical marvel of 1957. Yet ARPA also took on a host of other projects, including one envisioned by an agency computer specialist named Bob Taylor.
By the mid-1960s, ARPA work had been farmed out to university researchers around the country, and Taylor came up with the bright idea of bringing these researchers together electronically.
The agency decided to build a computer network based on the research of a computer scientist for the Rand Corp., Paul Baran. Baran developed the key concept underlying the modern Internet -- a computer network that had no central authority, and which distributed data in "packets." |

Ok..I am not trying to join in the america bashing here. I have a lot of family in the US and I think I can see it pretty objectively.
It's just kind of funny how first people always get annoyed because americans are so unpopular and then they immediately start spouting argumenst why the US is better.
And the argumenst themselves are kind of weird too. Most of them not even specific to the US.
You help other countries that had disasters? What makes you think other countries don't do that?
You have better education that attracts foreigners? Don't you think any western country has the same going on?
It's that attitude that makes you so unpopular. |

Americans are just as much of dumbasses as Europeans. You can measure a person's dumbassness by how much they are subject to trend.
Consider all the Americans who love shit like NSync, Eminem, or Korn. Now consider all the Europeans who love shit like Orbital, Ibiza, or that other trance shit.
Its a marketed trend. Europeans have their lame Homelands concert, but Americans have lame MTV.
Europeans tend to think they are better than Americans because many of them can speak more than one language. Surprise surprise, so can many Americans. If you don't believe come to south Texas.
Many Americans tend to think they are better than Europeans because we have a more powerful media (that not why we think we are better, but it is the ultimate reason). Sadly most of the media is just designed to commercialize on our dumbass minds, but most dumbass Americans are too stupid to figure this out. Europeans are no better, because the American media empire is blasted over there too.
So, most Europeans and Americans are just fucking ethnocentric ignorant bastards that need to go back to their caves and hide. |

It's pretty ridiculous when Canadians and Americans start bashing each other, it's like identical twins having a fight or something... Imagine the rest of the kids on the block ganging up on one of the twins, and the other twin siding with the gang! Well not a perfect comparison but you get my drift.
As for the value of a survey done on a random sampling of people on the street, how many of you agree it matters which time of day, and what street you are on (or what city for that matter)? How many of you think the REALLY smart people have nothing better to do than to roam around on the streets all day long?

I thought the last american elections where the ultimate in dumbness.
That was untill 20% of the dutch population voted for a wealthy fascist faggot that didn't even have a normal political program or anything. He was just good with the media so people voted for him.
Did I mention that he was murdered 10 days before the elections? Oh maybe I should tell you also that his votes went up significantly after his death.
Many people openly admitted that they voted for him to show their compassion to the family and friends.
Isn't that pathetic? They virtually rendered our country ungovernable. But hey..at least they showed their emotions. Tsssk
Don't worry americans..people are dumb everywhere. They can't think for themselves. They just do what their television tells them to do. |

YES thats right.
Television is your enemy, and we love it.
Most people are happily blind('ignorance is bliss') or simply don't care about the obvious signs of blatant corruption etc('out of site, out of mind').
This planet is run by money. Who has it controls it.
People need to start thinking for themselves instead of believing in the media. eg "Osama did it because Mr president said it was so. Not just him mind you....the media also coroborates with this".
Arse. Find the answers yourself.
No more drones, be an individual & break the system.
Lukias's tangent has ended. |

It's very hard to find objective news though. You can try to think for yourself but you have to base your opinions on something. And that something will almost always be written by someone else.

Yes, so true. I suppose thats the problem, the information is out there, its that most really don't feel the need to find it. Most are happy where they are, with what they believe. Yet people root for false causes, back the bad guy whilst having no idea they're doing so. They expell so much energy(hatred mostly) towards media fed falacies when it could be put towards finding alternative info that would no doubt enlighten them to the answers.
I think you have to feel theres something up in the first place to want to seek the truth.
So few do that though.
Usually they(me) are just disollusioned paranoid conspricacy theorists with a grudge against the wholesome reality, that which is the 'civilised' society we live in.

Wherever you go in the world, there are idiots. Idiotic leaders get voted into office because there's a higher percentage of idiots in the world than non-idiots.
I know people who came from the States (like my dad...) who are very smart. There are also some (like a kid in my class...) who are absolute idiots. Aforesaid kid thinks blowing people up is smarter than investigating things before doing whatever.
If you took all the idiots in the world and put them into the States (not that they'd fit) and made them Americans, and took all the smart Americans out and made them non-Americans, then it would be fair to say that all Americans are idiots, but until that time, all that can be said is that a lot of Americans are idiots.
Feh. I don't know if half of what I said makes sense. |
