www.firebrandfantasyart.com

I farmed out the colors and did a paint over for the foreground characters, and a little tweaking to the BG.

Very good sense of detail. Beatiful colors and genereally fine compositioning. But I think the image looks a little stiff. When it comes especially to the main character, it looks flat. It needs more lighting effects to curve the round areas, in order to kill the flatness and give that 3d feeling. The image value is almost the same at every part of it. The background and the foreground has the same value, so they don't seperate from each other. Especially the fighting scene looks problematic concidering these issues. But the most bugging thing is the crisspyness of the image. Edges are way too sharp at every part. Even the mountain has the same sharpness with the foreground characters. Maybe if you could blurren the images at some points, then you wouldn't even have to add values at all... But with all that stuff you must re-touch at least at some points to complete your well crafted art. Good work, keep up...

i totally agree with frantic.
it's a great peace and wonderfull details but it's a lil over-done.
u could easily shaved a few hours off working on the background and have left it more rough and less saturated (the further the BG - the rougher and less saturated it is) and could have gotten a better more focused result.
it feels like u "fell in love with your own work in the background" and u kept working on it a lot more than u should have.
instead of having a fighting seen in the forground and war in the background your have chaos as composition. more focus by colors and mean of treatment could have added a lot!
but it's amazinglly detailed and technically it's awsome. i also love the subject.

Hey Mike, i'm a big WOT fan, love the comic btw.

I think the piece is great it does have a touch of overdone in some elements but that's the artist in me talking, I think the birds really help the piece.

Awesome take on the Fall of Manetheren!

I'm mostly bugged by the long neck of the SOL dude. I'm guessing that he's human, so a bunch of his proportions are really wierd.

LOVE the background though.
