I thought i would start a thread for pics from sweden.
since there are quite a few people here at sijun from sweden i kind of hoped that you can help me fill this thread with nice pics of dear old Sweden
here's one to get things started:
taken a few years ago in the wildernes close to a place called lvdalen...
and here's a pic of the vehicle i used to get to that place
(the guy walking is my company-commander (i have no idea what his title really is in english but that is what he's called translated straight off, maybe someone of you could fill me in on that)
i'll post some more images as soon as i can dig them up, or go out and take them |

This is my summerhouses.. or rather my families summerhouses. They lie some 100m from each other.. the second one is where I'm currently at.
I really should take some photos of down at the lake cuz it's really nice. Maybe I'll post them tomorrow. |

Guy: they are abit clumsy for that. i almost tackled a car into the ditch once... it tried to pass me when i was turning right, and the pivot point of the PBV is really far ahead so the rear swings out when i turn. it almost caught the car straight in the side!
Rat: thx! it was an amazing sight to be there. glad the photo captured it at least abit.
Freddio: thx for clearing that out.
Diruo: that looks very nice. where is it? it's not the typical Falu Rdfrg summer house...
[Shizo]: I don't know what a BMP is. That vehicle is a PBV 401 MtLb. The swedish army bought it (per kilo) from russia for about $1 per 10 kilo. Then they renovated them, increasing the value about ten fold.
It's a nice vehicle.
It's constantly leaking diesel into the drivers compartment and makes such a loud noise you have to have both ear plugs AND those bigger hearing protection devices that looks like head phones (dunno what they are called in english) as soon as you are closer than 30 feet from it.
It doesn't have a steering wheel. Instead it has two levers that you pull to either turn left or right. How tight you turn is only dependent on you current speed. That's fun when you realise you've entered a tight corner to fast!
It has no brake except for one that completely locks the tracks up, effectively turning the vehicle into a 12 ton sled...
that combined with the steering makes for quite a journey...
yeah, it's a fun little thing... i really love it... honestly
anyway, as i've been to lazy to go out and take those pictures i planned to, i managed to dig up some old ones that a friend of mine took. they're all from 1999.
here's a view of the schoolyard at university i study at.
another pic of the uni. i kind of like the architecture.
this is a pic of "stortorget" in Helsingborg. The building with the clock tower is the Town Hall and was built with special imported bricks from Germany i believe. I dig that architecture alot
The body of water is the sound called resund, and on the other side is Denmark. Nice place to go and buy cheap beer.
this is a small castle called Krnan. Togheter with a much larger castle on the Danish side of the sound (the castle that Hamlet lived in according to Shakespear) they guarded the sound in the middle ages.
this is my home then i first moved down here.
hope you enjoyed them. if i can get my hands on a nice digital camera soon, i'll make sure to take some new pictures and post them here.
ps: i didn't realise that ubb-smileys counted as images. had to go through my post and remove a bunch of them to get under the 8 image limit...
edit: spelling and some fubared links...

Where are the Scandinavian cuties? It's summer for crying out loud. Female of the species are shedding their clothes, and we get buildings and trees? |

tyron: that's not the bad stuff I was thinking of. I like rain! I was thinking narrow minded idiots, jantelagen and miljonprojeks getton.
As soon as I find a digital camera to borrow I will go out in Stockholm and take pictures of cool places, nice buildings and beautiful people. And hopefully there will be some cuties just for you, Lunatique. |

Tak! Great Pics! Maybe some pics of 'Attention: Moskitos' signs close to lakes or ones with 'Attention: Cross-country-skiers' on them would be fine |
