I don't like pit bulls, cuz they snap and often attack children. My neighbor has one, and I won't let my little girl outside if that dog is out there. |

Hey Spitfire your cat looks like mine only Pepper doesn't have brown on him... he got named by the sound he makes too. He got kicked in the throat when he was a kitten and can only Peep not Meow. |

Jess not liking pit bulls is almost the same as disliking a person because of their race! I don't to much give a shit about racism, but it is wrong so.... I don't believe you can assume something about a group without prior experience! But it's your opinion! I love my dogs, I breed pits! I have never had one that attacked kids! To think of it everyone that has bought one has kids! Maybe it was the lack of training in those dogs, that you're talking about! If you raise an animal to be visious he will be! For instance a fighting pit, will most likely turn on you! I don't fight my pits, I just let em chase the mailman.....just to see his expression when he finds out pepper spray doesn't work on them! heheheh! |

Jeez, you don't need to yell at me. I'm scared of dogs because I was attacked when I was younger, that's all. The dogs that scare me the most are dobermens (which I was raised with a dobermen whom I still love, but has passed away), rottweilers (which I have also owned, but still fear for some reason) and.. pits. I can't help my fear. It overwhelms me sometimes when I'm walking down the street and I see a big dog, my heart starts beating really hard. It's just my instinct to be protective of my daughter too. I don't tell her about it, because I don't want her to be afraid of dogs just because I am. I wasn't trying to insult your pets, they're lovely. I'm just afraid of some dogs.
I prefur cats because their bite doesn't hurt so much. But that doesn't make me a racist. ...or speciast? I don't hate dogs. I had lots of different kinds of dogs when I was growing up. I cried my eyes out every time we lost any of them. They were like members of my family.
Doesn't make me a bad person. |

No, no, no! Jess wait, I didn't mean to offend you! I'm sorry that your affraid of dogs, I just don't see things the way dod...that's all. I didn't mean to seem violent in my post either and if I did anything to hurt your feelings, I apologize!
I just love dogs, and I just hate it when people assume that they are violent just because of their bad past! I mean sometimes when I walk my dogs people get all scared and freaked, why? My dogs are well trained and won't bite unless I tell them or your trying to hurt or rob me! It's even gotten to the point were people have called the so called authority, claiming that I was housing murderous K-9's! Sure pits, rotts, and dobers have a tempermented bloodline but it can be worked around! It's like a child for example - If you don't teach a child what is wrong and what is right, the child will never know rhe difference. I'm just tired of people and these stereo types!
As for you being a racist! I don't know you, so please don't assume that I was in anyway accusing you of being one-When I made that comment it was just the closest thing that came to mind!
Note: My dog Hel saveda 3 year old girl from a fire 2 years ago. I didn't tell him to either, I guess he heard her screaming even though we didn't! Sounds unreal right?

I, too, prefer cats. For the reason that cats have some kind of Zen, a strange serenity that surrounds them like they know the secrets of the univers It's also a known fact that cats are great stress-relievers, possibly because of their serenity. Furthermore cats are so independant, they dont get food? they catch mice or birds. They cant find a good place to piss? they'll piss in your bed. They dont like the place they have to sleep? they'll sleep in your favourite chair.
But hey, i like dogs too. An uncle of mine has *such* a cute dog. I dont know the english term but it's one of those "stretched" dogs with really short legs. The short-haired kind. And some other relatives of mine have a beautiful Retriever as well as a huge collection of Havana's (no not the cigars ), the small hairy little bark-machines. Dogs are fun because they never seem to grow up. They just want to play with you and run with you and whatever they could possibly like. And they dont sleep 75% of their life
Though ofcourse dogs are much larger predators than cats, and *can* pose a threat to people. But like Duplicity said, that depends on the training and not on the breed. I bet you could find a tiny little grandma's dog that would try to tear your foot off |

here is mister buddy. he was the runt of his miniature pincher litter and his ears were cut wrong.
finally, mister buddy got sick of being nibbled on and grew to enormous proportions and is now twice the weight of the average minpin. he has successfully achieved the look any other has not. here he is trying out for taco bell.
hooray for him! also, if you have any problems with files on my site, let him know.

awww that picture made me laugh, it's so cute.
It's ok, DeathbyDuplicity no hard feelings. I'm a bit of a phsyco, it's not your fault.
Spit you crack me up. Tho I would be mad if my cat pissed in my bed hahaha. Mine used to get under the house instead of using the litter box sometimes. We call those long dogs with short legs Weiner or Hot Dogs haha. But there's a real name for them that I can't think of this morning. Oh! Datsun? I think?
Like I said, I've had rotts and dobermens. Our dobermen when I was a child, Sammy, was really very protective of me and my brothers. I always felt safe when she was with us. For some reason, she didn't like men in uniforms. I was only little, so I still don't know why that was so. Her hips went out, and she was no longer able to walk or get around. So my parents, despite our begs, pleas and cries, decided to put her to sleep. And then we had a Golden Retriever, a Dalmation and 2 Rotts. Not all at the same time. Our Retriever died of cancer. The dalmation got ran over twice, the second time he didn't make it. And my parents still have the two rotts. They haven't been around young children very much and tend to growl at my daughter when we go to visit once a year. So they make me nervous, even though I love them.
Anyway. I don't have any pets now. I don't know how to train dogs. Can't even potty train them. I can't bring myself to scold them, because I feel bad. lol, I can't even remember to feed myself. So I think it would be a bad idea for me to get any pets. ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/frown.gif) |

Dachshund would be the german term. We call em "Teckel" or "Tekkel". Datsun is a japanese car brand i believe...
Tigre : your dog is cuuute he/she has that specific look that dogs can give you. You know. Humans can do it too. The faithful-dog-look
And Jess, my cat allways pisses and/or shits on the couch, the carpet, the bed, or my clothes when i piss her off. The egyptians were right to worship those little furry monsters as gods... do wrong to them and you'll pay. Oh yes. But then again, who can get mad at such a cute little creature that looks at you with huge green eyes and purrs and licks your hand.

Jess when you said a cat bite doesn't hurt as much you might be right, but cat bites and scratches are more likely to get infected.
And about the bad/good dogs, my neighbor has a rottweiler and German Shepard... he's had his grandson living with him since he was born. Both dogs have never attacked anyone and only back when someone is near the houses. I was my poodles 7th home and he was about 8 months when I got him. He hates men, his bit 2 police officers, 1 fireman, and my mothers boyfriend. I have to keep him on a chain in a fence in the back yard. I feel it is how they are raised, but there are always those who just snap so Jess you have ever right to fear dogs... Go the safe route if in doubt... by a gold fish.
And I have a Hampster too... she's plump, and sleeps all day and has a real bad attitude... she such a cute little critter.
Oh and DeathbyDuplicity have you ever had a pit that was the tiger striped... orange and black?

I've been bitten and scratched a zillion times by cats and never did it get infected... Cats are the absolute masters of personal hygiene (or how the hell you write that). |

Spitfire- Yeah cats are great too! My girl has to blue points if I'm not mistaken...but I dunno much about cats. Your cat pees in your bed, man that's a helluva way to begin a day! heheheh!
synj- Cool looking dog! He looks like he could be a star! He has that "I want to eat your shin look"!! heheheh!
Jess- From what you've been saying I assume you won't be training any dogs, but if so remember NEVER train them by scolding them!! NEVER!! It makes them either scared of loud noises or defensive of them! Leading to sometimes suprise attacks! Always try to train them with a calm voice, and treat them when they do right.
Tigre- Handsome fellow or lady you've got! My sister used to have a dog that looked just like yours, it's name was Rex though.
Jabberwocky- Your poodle sounds fun to be around! heheheh! And yeah I just sold 6 of the 9 litter of that type of tigerstripe! Compliments of War and my brothers pit Piar! War and Chaos are rare tigerstripe though! He was born from a cotton mouth and a bass mouth! Both 100% rott bloodline! Hel is the purist rednoses can get, I've never mixed his bloodline. Lady is pure bass mouth, never mixed. Critter is from another one of War's liters with a coton mouth! Yeah he's a pervert! heheheh! I don't mate Hel unless it's with lady though, and she's not feeling too horny lately!

Poor critter...
And don't get me wrong about cats I have 4... 3, one got stolen. I taught my long hair gray w/ brown spots, my pure white one, I took away from the owner when he was a kitten, was being used as a football... he's about 17 yr now, my pure black one, thinks he's human, he sleeps with his head on a pillow like we do, and my gray tabby, Peeper, was the runt of the litter... he has asma and allergies so he can't go out side.
I have 2 dogs, a German shepard we got from the police department, scared of storms, and my poodle.
I had a pet wolf spider for my Biology 101 class. Britney was her name... she made little screaming sounds so my lab partner named her that... she said that it sounded as bad as Spears's singing.

Screaming spiders sound cool to me! heh! I think I'd like to get a hold of one of them!
I also have two 1.5ft itty bitty albino pythons, I don't have pictures of them yet because at this age bright lights can hurt them and I keep them in a semi dark room so I'd have to use flash! They're pretty cute, one boy one girl! I haven't named them yet though, because they don't do anything spectacular at the moment! |

YEah we had over 200 in different container in the Biology room... they made a ton of noise... we even put 2 in the same container... that was cool.
They were Wolf Spiders... they are poisonios and the bites do look really unearthly nasty and are painful and you will need to see a doc if you get bit... My teacher left out this tid bit to the class... found out about it after I had done my research on them...
If anyone wants to know how to get one without getting caught I'll tell you how we caught all ours... It's was fun.

Poisonous? Hell I'd let him bite me if it doesn't kill me! My friend got bit by a rattlesnake and it didn't kill him, it made him delirious though! He was like super high or some shit, laughing his ass off! And yeah how do you get a hold of these splended little critters? |

The varsity jacket in the bottom pic was NOT my idea. My sister bought it because he is the same breed as the dog in the movie Air Bud (football playing dog?). |
