Hi everyone!
this thread is absolutely awesome.
A friend who watched my fist attempts as a matte artist linked me here.
Said I would like it. I looked at some 200 pages and can say, I am addicted.
Practicing for a month now (in the job breaks) I hope to someday become a decent painter...

just wanted to comment on all of your work
vyle, igino,mitsui,stewartone,m@(man you're on fire), luc > brilliant work guys!
i've taken a break from digital. if it's one thing i learned, learning how to paint digitally has had a great impact on my oil painting. I picked up the brush 2 weeks ago, and painted for the first time in mylife with oils. it came out as crap. but then i tried again, taking a picture for a reference. that's when the top came about. it took me 4 days to do it and it still looks all... 'speedpainty'
but then, yesterday, i tried again and painted the bottom in 40 mins.
i know the picture quality is very poor, but i can't scan this yet because it is so wet, and i dont have a good camera at the moment... (it broke)
so, i guess learning to paint digitally DOES help you out with values, colors, shapes, and just generally learning to paint
anyway, this pic was to accompany my post of saying how much of an awesome job you're all doing..

annisahmad: painting with traditional mediums will improve your digital skills too, don't you think? For me it works both ways.

Been holding back - gotta let it out now.
Browsing old pages (from 2003) Duracel (for example) still has some stuff out there.
He came a really long way. Like may others. If I can do that I'll be the happiest speedpainter on earth. (need critcism though).
Inspired by the terracotta army...

Damn school is rampin up again, taking my time away.
Miles, I like that first sp of yours alot, with the ruined buildings and the horse.
Went and screwed up the perspective on this one, but better than before, I'm thinking...

kinda crappy when it came to certain areas, but it's one of my first few serious tries with Painter IX and I'm still feeling my way around...
igino: awesomeness there's something about the way you handle colours that's really appealing, the outlining, the unconventional gradients and so on, I'm sure there're people here who can explain it better than me
