Isn't Dhabih one of Valve's concept artist? _________________ "They're toys. My friends are toys, I made them..."

Is there a process as to how you created those skyscrapers? Brushes? Copy & paste? I like the intricate detail work. The first set is nice too (I like the second better), the textural quality on the buildings make them look almost photographic, when mixed with the luminous sparks and painterly Combine Elites (or what look like them, I noticed that the armour and weapons are a tad different) the style is quite unique (to me). _________________ Derelict Studios|Godwin's Space |

Godwin,
If youre referring to the second piece, I do use diffrent brushes that ive found for free over the internet, that are just really random objects, and I use them in conjunction with holding down the shift key and adjusting the rate at which they flow, to make the vertical shape of the skyscrapers.
I then go in and either erase some with the same brush or simply highlight with another brush in the same manner (holding down shift and moving vertically) to give the straight look to them, with the various floors or scaffolding or levels appearing.
Most of the brushes that I have are from 8nero.net and I should give credit to him/her because they are really exceptional brushes. I do have a few other sets from affilliates linked on that site and others, but I find that I primarily like to use those for these building things.
I really find myself feeling guilty at times for this style that I employ, I feel as if I am almost cheating myself by using so many layers and so much filtering work with lighting and texturing things that theres so little of my "hand" work left in it compared to most things that I see on this site I feel almost embarrased by it.
The thing is that I know alot of people can see how I do things because when you are familiar with these programs, its easy to point out when someone uses these means to render something like this. |

The armored guys in the first image remind me of Infinates from the Age of Apocalypse comic line. Love the perspective and the buildings look great.
I too am curious how you get the skyscrapers looking so good, are you using painter for those? or photoshop? or what all those perfectly straight lines make me assume photoshop...but i'm just guessing. _________________ wait...wait...........what? |

These are very cool indeed. First images reminded me of HL2 too. |

The weapons your combine soldiers are carrying look kind of like weapons i saw in early screenshots and trailers before hl2 was released. Way cool man. _________________ If people bathed in gravy... I`d be a cannibal! |
