Right, I started working on a painting of a sewer to see if I could make it realistic enough to present this method as an option for a shot in a film being made in my school this fall. I ended up staying up way too late and got to this point:
The pipe needs work, and the water isn't that good (I guess I'd need reference to make it look better), and there's something generally not quite convincing about it. I'm going to go get what sleep I have time for now... I would appreciate feedback, hopefully I'll finish this tomorrow. |

Affected> nice work on the lights and everything. I think the main thing here is that the walls look too dry and clean. If you made it look rusted and broken, with the water's wave much less pronounced and not so blue, it would be great! i think the main problem here is that this looks too 'clean' . _________________ http://www.annisnaeem.blogspot.com/ |

Slow progress today... But I think I'm about done, just need to give the walls some texture.

I like it!
All I think it needs now is some cracks in the walls and rats
And the walking grid going over the water should be a bit thicker, looks a bit flat.. _________________ Why dont you clone yourself!

Use references.
-all the things that has been said before.
-Since you are making this for school. I guess, that you are aware of that when creating sets, film makers use very bright spot lights, and small color lights to create the feeling to the shot. You have only 3 very dim light in your scene.
-Make the whole scene more blueish.
-It doesn't look very good if there are highlights in the water doesn't move, so make the water invisible, so we can see the bottom. I think it would be more interesting.
Use more references.
But looking good, continue. |

If you don't want the water to move (dunno, too much work to animate it?), and there's no need for it to move (as in the film, which I think everyone's assuming is live action), I think it'd be better to make a static set with like just puddles of water and stuff. The lighting's looking good, but yea keep going, would like to see it all textured and dirty and wet ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ Derelict Studios|Godwin's Space |
