There is so much things I want to try at once That I cant finish one and I start a new one. Got to get rid of my habit of keeping the black lines of my drawing. need to paint on top of it.
This one I will do just that, if I ever finish.
I used the space ship of previous speedpainting for the head.

She now wear a new high tech shield.Beware! Bad aliens.
For this piece and my spaceship one it was my first wacom draw sketches in months. I had to hand draw for a few months to improve my skills and now it makes my life easier with the wacom.
I think I'm done with this piece, I'll try to finish an other one or maybe strat a new one?....

hmm cool, but some of them are a little hard to make out as they get jumbled up with the background? _________________ Derelict Studios|Godwin's Space |

if I draw a sketchs be hand, black and white. i'm ok. but color wise i'm still having a hard time, but im learning a lot from all of you with your work and cmnt. And my composition too. quite flat.
btw your stuff is very nice too. like the machine city type arts.
thks again |

Dear Deadbeat. I'm having big spasms right now. No work, no food, just madness.
I really need to improve my skills as fast as possible so I can change job direction.
I learn a lot by looking at you people but I still need crits on my work to correct what I cannot see no more.

you know man, you can just edit your posts. I know your not crazy, but to be honest going through this thread sort of reminded me alittle of the film "a beautiful mind," when the protagonist goes off his medication and his wife walks into the shed and sees the walls covered in papers linked together in patterns only he could see. Cuz he was crazy. Or something like that.
As for your artwork, i like it. Its unique, and with more practice (which you are obviously doing) it'l be totaly sick. _________________ -Chase |

Yeah CwStone, you're more right than you think. I really love the movie. the man is trully a great human being. Such a powerful mind we have us human. going through extremes and back. here is a link to 2 pictures of my studio at home. look at the walls. drawings all over the place. they are not from me, alas, but inspiration only. my goal is to replace them by mine.

I am a bit crazy and a lot obsessive, when talking about work of course. I think about work most of the times, could be graphic design, fashion design, industial stuff, illustrations and so on... I can hardly look at any abstract shape and bang! I start seeing stuffs emerging, patterns, creatures, objects, name it.
When I draw i create what I call a shape generator, a profusion of lines from which I can extract the raw and the details of new things to come. From the noize of kaos there is a beautiful melody.
To understand how my mind works, if ever possible, consider this; last fall, for about 2 months, I start painting in photoshop with a small wacom I had for 6 months but never used till then. I made about 30 pieces. some of them in my deviantart gallery. But back then I new I was weak in my drawing skill even if I have draw since i'm 2 yrs old. so I drop the digital and got back to the start. draw, draw, draw.... I had these 10 years old 18X24 sheets of paper, like 150 of them from school, I start drawing early november but by end december I was almost out of paper, with about 25% of the pages draw on both side. so I went to buy 3 pad of paper; 1 9x12 for the road, 1 14x17, 1 18x24. By the end of april of this year a have used around 250 pages, 200 of them 18x24, for approximatetly close to 3000 sketchs of some sort.
Here is a link to over 50 of those pages.
http://pleatsmaster.deviantart.com/scraps/
I was too busy working since to do more but now i'm back again. took about 2 weeks to refocus in this direction. I still have a lot of work to do but i've improve so much in less than a year that i'm confident to reach my goal quite fast.
sources of inspiration of great value for me are; clouds and rocks. for the first, every day brings new inspirations, and the later, i've got a small collection at home. lines are everyware waiting for me. I do research all the times, for my self or my customers. Lately it was japan arts, traditional and modern, gothic/medieval european, rock n roll fashion trends. Plus I had access to my gf research on contemporary artists. so much nice things around the world in all fields. amazing times we live in. I have also probably read over 500 books, not including magazine and internet, watch undreds and undreds of movies from early b&w piano sound track movie a la charlie chaplin, old sci-fi & horror movie & twiligth zone tv series kind of things, to laurence of arabia, fred astaire, and so on and tralalalala. Funny how much we can download in our brain in a single shot or a life time. Mega, giga, tera, voila! bytes.
I'm also a fan, big times, of artists like; Moebius, caza, druillet, schuiten, ryan church, dusso, scott robertson, feng, sparth:)... well, everyone of you artists. big hurra all.
Oh, bye the way, if anybody ever wonders where my nickname "pleatsmaster" on deviantart comes from, here is a link to some jackets, dresses I did the design, pattern, confection(sewing). arts. Like for these pieces, most of the garment I made in the past 2 years for men or ladies possess those particular details of pleats, box pleats in fact. confined in a square or not. "pleats" refers also to our brain, spacetimes and history. amongs other things. I'm kind of designing origami with fabric instead of paper. plus i get to wear it. yeah!

Well as for obssession, see this text, if i dont stop i could write till you fall asleep.....
p.s. check out my arts on deviantart.com often since it is regularly update and you can visualiaze everything in one look, well, multiple page of it. Gallery for more finished work and scraps for sketchs, wips, elses... |

I admire your attitude stephan! You seem to have a lot of fun with the learning progress.
I am definately a depressive learner who is never really satisfied
Keep up the good work - you got some nice skeches in your gallery! |

With this many posts, most of which I haven't read, it seems like you have confused the forum idea with the blog idea. LOL
You should consider a blog... _________________ HonePie.com

Thank you Max. By the way, i like your own drawing as seen in the daily drawing routine thread. and then went to your web site. cool love your feminine caracter, whish i could draw like that right now.
I'm a very lazy artist, that is the main reason why I can work so much. If I dont work like hell i dont work at all. extremes. |

i dont think you are right eyewoo, i dont what to bla bla bla about my self that much, dont need that, ive got friends and familly for that mather.
but I'm surprise, I thought sijun was the place to show my work in progress and to receive constructive c&c, on which i can build better work.
with c&c received i can deal with then exchange on solutions etc..
Instead people seems to be anoyed by my post. i'm not trying to overload this place with my stuff, i'm not looking for any praises, nor glory, nor fame. dont need anything but learning and growing as an artist, and give some back
Ray bradburry once said something like this aprox.; Lock me in a room with a paper and a pen against 100 guys with computers and i will outclass everyone of them.
That is the attitude i like. _________________ use no way as way, no limitation as limitation.

I don't think people are really annoyed, it just seems that way because they're reacting to how this section has grown rather quiet and your constant posting seems like spamming... but since you really were doing updates to your WIP, they're not.
Having said that however, maybe you *could* cut down on it a little, and post updates where you think you REALLY want feedback, and not after every milestone, so to speak. You seem to know what you want to/have to do, and I guess people are cool with that, that's why sometimes there're no replies.
Anyways thanks for the comment on my work hehe, I'm still figuring out a lot of stuff, learning new things almost everyday _________________ Derelict Studios|Godwin's Space |

I have been a bit edgy lately. consequence of me getting rid of a bad 23 years addiction with nicotine. and i succeed! Hourra! I had to quit in order to moved on with my carreer, and i needed a more strong will, which was not the case as long as i smoke. it is all in the brain.
i'm much more calm and concentrate today. i can now resume my activities with renewed motivation and energy.
One of the good thing is that i dont have to post as much since i'm working on showing something really worth showing all of you.
with so much talent around i just wanted to join with my own artistic contribution.
hopefuly the sijun chalenge will help me make a real difference! not to forget the anatomical thread of petrij.
