When painting in photoshop I believe the shift key is a handy tool. When you hold down shift it allows you to make stright lines vertically and horizontally. However, as I do this and make multiple strokes where one line ends and the next begins there becomes a line connecting the two. I hope that makes sense. Does anyone out there know how I can modify this so I can make multiple straight lines without them connecting to eachother? Its a stupid problem to have but nevertheless is still a problem. Please tell...

once you have made the first line... select it, then copy/drag it by holding down both Ctrl and Shift keys... then copy drag it again and again and again... etc... Normally, Photoshop will create a new layer for each copy during this process, so when finished, collapse all the layers into one...

...or...

Once you have made your first line, release the shift key and don't press it again until you have started the next line... i.e. don't hold down the shift key and then start the next line... start the line and then hold down the shift key.

To make multiple connecting lines, keep the shift key held down and click from point to point.

To keep a consistant thickness make sure all pressure sensitivity options are turned off.

Good Luck
