matthew, i don't get why you're setting a schedule for activities like this. they should be on-going, i think people would be much more inclined to post frequently. |

I have made a lot of these themed threads here in Sijun and what I have noticed is that a scheduled thread like this probably works better than a one without a schedule.
Not sure though there is a reason to continue with this thread since there is no activity at the moment, I was aiming for the kind of activity where at least someone is doing all of the provided reference and with that I do not mean copying, Petri J sure was on the right track.
I guess a new thread can be made, renaming this wouldn't work that well.
hope you are ok with this

Good idea. Put some interesting and artistic pictures there, so the intrest remains. Perhaps you could add even one painting, perhaps one of Craigs? |

I hope you have heard "In Flames"?, they are swedish u know.
"Avenged Sevenfold" are my favourites at the moment though, their latest is just superb but I guess they fall more under the category hardrock and not nu-metal.
oh well rock on |

This is why i love sijun, i came back here because of things like this thread. I would love for more learning threads to arise here. _________________ When you look at a blank canvas or drawing paper, it stares you in the eyes and thinks it can beat you.~ Justin Beckett |

ok cool then, I can see that there is an interest for this kind of thing.
After closing time of this thread I will make a new thread Called "The Big Practise Thread", this will mean that you just like we did here are to add your own thumbnail picture of a reference and then post that study.
is it better if the members choose their own reference or was it better like here? when you have reference provided?
Any pointers about that new thread goes in here until tomorrow, think I will allow all kinds of medium for that thread aswell.
Matthew
p.s. odds, I agree about In Flames there, though I can't grow tired of their "colony" album cause it is too good. |

With further examination and thinking I am a bit split about this, of course u guys are interested now but then the interest is lost and the thread falls into shadow.
I did just spend a lot of time deleting the pics and I can not host this kind of thing again, at least not if there isn't any interest.
I will start a discussion thread Called "The Big Practise Discussion" in the digital art discussion, please join there and see what my thinking is towards these kind of threads and activities.
Admin, please lock this thread so it will not keep be bumped, since it was only a seasonal activity.
Thanks again for making it sticky
ok thanks again to everyone who participated, if you have made a new picture and want to post it, post it in the speedy instead.
thanks again.
