old pic that i finally got updated after finding good and inspiring ref pics. i posted the earlier version ages ago, but if you want to check out the progress, go here: http://personal.inet.fi/clan/grottoart/v9/paintings_19.html
Ive had HUGE problems with her face, but luckily i found the ref pics. im still thinking of continuing this pic. not completely finished at the moment. At least the hair, background and shoulders needs fixing.
comments are welcome...

i dont know if she feels like as if she's dancing... more like standing against a wall...try to move her away form the wall ?
she is pretty static and wellbalanced in her pose...
maybe throw in some vague green into the piece ?
just random ideas and thoughts
cheers, i like the pic alot though, but dancing....maybe
cheers |

I thought a second about making an overpaint, but on a second thought I would have to remake the whole picture (hope you don't mind that I'm so straight forward). But to say a few things. I think the face is too big comparing to her head. And perhaps the head could be smaller as well. Her left arm from elbow to wrist is too short. Her shoulders seem very masculine.
Hhhh.. I'll just go to photoshop
..time passes..
Hmm, not very good, but something like this.
She still doesn't look very much that she was dancing, but what the hell.
As you can see I made long hair so the movement shows better, and made a little more interesting neckline, and twisted the head to make it more dramatic.

yeah, the shoulders and neck needs some work.
thanks for the overpaint. your chick dances very fast. i imagined originally a very slow and smooth dance, yknow... jazzy thing. but come to think of it, its harder to make it look like a dance that way. |
