Hey guys,
Well, I have a full version of 3DS Max 7, brand new, unused.
I won it at an art contest but this has no use for me. I am a 2D artist, not a 3D. Anyhow, this isn't a student version. You can use it any way you'd like. I'm willing to sell this for no less then $1,800 USD.
Most of you know the kind of person I am, so I won't run away with your money. If you want info, just email me at: [email protected] or send me a PM here
To prove I have it, here's some images;
If you'd like to buy it, we can use paypal for your security. I will pay for shipping & handling.
I know this may not be the right forum, but I thought that since this place is flourishing with 3d/2D artists, I might post this here for their eyes.[/b][/i] _________________ http://www.annisnaeem.blogspot.com/ |

Gort> for some reason, that came out funny. i blow up laughing everytime i read it. hahaha. i think the word 'such' made a world of a difference in that sentence.
eyewoo> yeah. isn't it tempting
NeFF> exactly what I asked. but Ranath is right. I don't think they had any 2D sponsors... They're a 3D people, but somehow sponsored a 2D contest, and gave away 3D prizes. loll. i was kind of pissed at getting it.
Max> thanks. 2.5; nice . how much did it cost you? _________________ http://www.annisnaeem.blogspot.com/ |

annis: Hehe, nothing - a good friend of mine gave me his copy.
It's an awesome programm and as long as you don't want to use all the fancy stuff like fluids, cloth, particles, dynamic whatsoever it's really enough to work with. Just the lightning is damn hard. No chance against hdri, vray, metalray and all the other high end renderers. |

I also won a copy of max 7. catch is that we won it as a group. So 10 of us own 1 copy of max and we have no idea what to do with it. So it's just sitting at my friends house. |

therealmark> lol. i tried selling it on ebay but these guys contacted me that work for discreet. i told them that i haven't installed the product yet, and thus have not registered. but still they insist on being as*holes, and keep saying the same thing.
they're bitchy about selling it. I don't know why. Anyhow, with e-bay having their VeRO program protecting programmers, artists, etc., ( that came out of nowhere. never heard of it before), the people from discreet don't have to give an explanation but merely need to provide a form certification that they worked on 3DS max/are an author of the product. After that, they can shut down your bid or stop any money transfers. That's why I was trying to sell it out of ebay because the guys don't want to listen and will just shut down your bid.
I e-mailed them about 3 times in the past 3 weeks, asking questions, with 1 response; "if you install, you will see this... and then you can't transafer the license"... But I haven't installed, haven't seen it, and don't have it registered yet. _________________ http://www.annisnaeem.blogspot.com/ |

I dont see how you would not be allowed to sell software you havent even installed or registered. Also its pretty retarded, I mean whats the point in winning something if you have to let it rot. I cant believe that a company gives things out for a contest and then goes all bitchy about it. |

they probably figured the winners of that contest weren't likely to buy 3ds max, so it was not much of a loss for them to give a copy away. Selling it, though, will take away a customer. I don't see how they have any legal right to stop you from selling it, though. |

The software you win in contests is usually stickered with a "not for resale" tag. I won an art contest back in 2000 or 2001 and received "6000$ worth of software". Almost all of it was tagged not for resale. I never managed to get rid of any of it.
I don't bother with contests anymore, but if I did, I'd stick to ones with cash prizes.
If your copy of Max isn't stickered though, you're perfectly justified in selling it. Do you have some documentation that says you won the contest? You might want to include a scan of that certification if you try eBay again. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

glitterbug & affected> I feel the same way you do. But they have a license agreement when you install...Tthat's what they told me at least... But which i've never seen since i never installed it, haha. But anyway, it is pretty unfair. What if you actually bought the product and then wanted to get rid of it; THAT would suck. They didn't know I had won the product, so I guess they just don't let anyone sell it at all...
balistic> thanks . no, it didn't say i could not sell it. i told the guys at discreet, they took two weeks to get back, saying they're not sure and i should give them the product key so they could check up on all my possibilities. by then, i had personally sold it to some guy who lives about 30 mins away from me, LOL. _________________ http://www.annisnaeem.blogspot.com/ |
