Who bought the new Harry Potter book, how long did it take you to finish, and what did you think. (NO SPOPILERS)

I'm sure there are going to be some Potter bashers, "Tolkien/Lewis/Herbert is better, H.P fans suck, literary equivalent to the funny pages, blahblahblah."

I personally feel they rock, and am curious what other people think of the new one.

Me-
Read in 2 days- Good, but I thought it suffered the same problem as Order of the Pheonix- too much time in which nothing really happens other than funny character bits. followed by an exhausting conclusion/cliffhanger. Thought it wrapped up events alluded to in Chamber of Secrets nicely. What's most staggering is how cleverly Rowling has tied EVERY major event and small reference together seamlessly.

All in all, a nice round B.

hey, no shame here. I picked it up when looking for good set of ellipse templates.. couldn't find the freaking templates though Mad

anyway, it took me a day (because my sister was craving for it and I had to push it through). Not bad book if you ask me, start and finish were nice though the mid section was incredibly boring at times. At least reading in general gives some fresh ideas to concept art side..

What's with you Shizo? Can't you read? Very Happy

(I'm not a Harry Potter fan)

Good thing he can just wait a bit and then go see the movie instead of having to read the book.

I don't bother. It's not that great a book, but that's my opinion.

I have yet to actually read any of the books, even though I read all the time.

I'll get to them eventually.

Bandados> HAHAHA. nice! I agree about the acting.

Max> Dumbledore... Killed by Severus Snape, the man he so trusted faithfully.

Damn, I always though Snape was mean but very sincere.
Well, I am not a fan of the books but really like the movies.

if i didnt read the books, i'd like the movies alot too... but the movies dont go along with the book alot, so its sometimes irritating when watching the movies.

I like the books and the movies. Just got the book today, spent about four hours reading it, and got just shy of halfway through. I'm not sure if I like it best of all the books, but it's damn good so far. ^_^
