These are for Dungeon Magazine. This first one was to be a vertical composition then it was changed to an extremely horizontal composition....crap! Actually, I'm glad that happened because my original was pretty boring looking back.
This last one was for Dragon Magazine. In the published version he has a blonde fu-manchu mustache and a red ruby on his forehead. I liked it better without.

The first two are your strongest pieces. I love the sense of motion you put into the character in the upper left hand of the first piece. I'd say the third is really strong, too, but I wish the tentacles could be more organic. The anatomy of the character in the fourth looks a bit off in the arms. Everything else is just dandy. _________________

I like number two and then the final one. Must say that the final one did it for me, there is something about that guys look and character that fascinates me. Great work by the way! _________________ There is no spoon. So use a fork! |

I must have missed this one earlier but I must say I really like that first one. Doesn't look like water, instead it looks like flying guys and flying sharks which makes this piece so much cooler, perhaps not what u were looking for but it really works well.
Remember to diffuse more when rendering water and also water bubbles around arms and suchs on characters, though this depends on whether they just have entered the water or not.
////me rambling too much
