I just bought Photoshop CS2 and was quite exited about it. Well, the poor performance of the programm does already annoy me but I have even a bigger problem at the moment. My brushstrokes look like this:

There seems to be a peek in the pressure curve of the pen at the beginning of each brushstroke. Drivers are new, and I have no similar problem in any other application.

I�m using an Intuos3 here and turned off "smoothing" in the brush controls (smoothing compensates the effect somewhat but that�s just a dirty workaround and it�s damn slow).

Now, I�m wondering if anyone of you experiences the same problem with Photoshop CS2 and perhaps someone has even a solution to this problem? It would be greatly appreciated!

I don't have any answer for your problem.. but I think I'm using 'smoothing' all the time with CS, mostly because it allows for softer curves.. You mean that CS2 is remarkably slower than CS? I thought it was a must buy, but what you're saying doesn't sound too good.

I�ve seen this problem before and it was solved by reducing the double-click distance on the pen in the tablet settings in control panel.

That was worth a shot but it doesn�t change anything unfortunately.

I don�t use any special brush settings, I experience the problem with any brush attribute set to pressure sensitivity. I also did not change the wacom driver setting in any specific way.

Now, I started to ask people in my own german forum and guess what: every single one experiences that problem I discribed! And it does not matter, if they use a graphire, an intuos or whatever. It even does not matter if they use a pc or mac, it�s always the same problem.

I guess, that it is a major bug in Photoshop CS2 and that everyone who does not experience it, probably has turned smoothing on.

I just tried to turn off the smoothing aswell and I see what you mean, I�m getting the same thing =/. We�ll just have to hope they patch it.

If I sneak up on it I can sometimes get it to not do it; otherwise: same
