Quickie landscape-esque thing that I will most likely recycle as backgrounds for different freelance illustrations.

Matthew: wow your latest is creepy. I feel like the girl from the ring is going to walk out of that cave and choke me to death or something. er.. yea. crazy stuff.

playing with color. Every color effect that I've studied I pretty much used in this picture. Most of the effects are exaggerated. One that I really like is the out of focus highlight effect. Pretty much you just got to look at a object that has a highlight or a bright lighted area and wait a couple seconds to see a strip of high saturated color right above the highlight. The color of the strip is determined by the colors around the highlight and the color of the object the light is hitting. It's very simular to the effect you get when you look a bright light, such as a street light.

Igino, your welcome homie. your latest is nice-ola as well, though i'd call the legs a bit short and the glutious maximus a bit pronounced. but hey...

Zhushu: Great skull. Reminds me of anatomy class.
JFrancis: The cup and the tape dispenser look especially nice!

Just a quickie while I was packing in order to move later today.

Popeye: Those sketches just 'hit the spot". Nice work. Smile
kinnas: Great to see you posting again, not seen you about for ages.

This was my disasterous entry for the EP weekly comp. Managed to make poor Nemo look like a railway hobo in a straightjacket.

This thread is moving fast now. Great art from everyone!
Been so busy and stressed lately, I'm starting a company with a friend during the summer, we are going to develope our own invention, from concept to finished product, and we are getting paid for doing it.. not a bad summer job! Too bad that the fun parts, the development, the design, is only one third of that time... I had my first small concept design job too! Had to draw a product design in three hours, it was to be shown in a workshop filled with inventors right after it was done, and I was pretty nervous since there was no time for mistakes and I was working in markers... after one and a half hour they decided to change the schedule, so I only had 30 mins to complete the drawing... 30 minutes of nightmare! It turned out ok in the end, but I hope not all illustration jobs are like that.. Smile

Watmough, annishamad: Thanks guys, i'm happy you noticed some improvement! I've started to draw people from life, which is helping alot. I'm trying to find the forms of things, like a nose, or a chin... pretty damn hard!
Keep it up!
