Thanks for the encouraging words fellas.

Here's the pride of the Russian fleet many years from now. I call it The Lion of Murmansk.

Just got into speedpainting a few days ago. Funny, for the first couple of days I was pretty much crapping on the canvas and not really producing anything worth mentioning, but now I seem to have at least started to grasp it. I guess I needed time to rewire my brain from spending "as long as I desire, la la la la la..." to "One Hour MAX."
Believe you me, it is hard to break into a thread with the quality of work shown here. Especially with so little experience at this. But, I suppose the best way to get better at something is to keep trying until someday I look back on these first primordial works with wonder...

Just did this one in the last hour off a few mindless scribbles until I saw something. I obviously didn't see enough because I am still disappointed in it.

Just a quick portrait drawn while preparing and consuming copious amounts of pancakes.

Nice work everyone, some fab pages recently! Been away in Barcelona. (no excuse for not participating in speedpainting, obviously. Embarassed)

ax-hv: Love the mixture of colours and textures going on in that one.

trurl: Been loving the stuff you've been posting here. So much conveyed in them.

Was trying to learn from Sargents brushstrokes in this study, but... ach. Time to start practicing with real paints, I think.

Cool overpaint Freebooter. He did need to lose some weight Very Happy I tried to paint it with a low perspective, but I think it works better with the straighter, further camera position you used. It is seems also much more dynamic because of your loose paintingstyle. Thanks and keep on painting!
