a couple 20 minute watercolors... tried to give up the line and go straight for the brush. I need to get more color and hit the values faster. Tackling the background wouldn't be a bad idea either. :)

I'm one of the sad cases that are fascinated by art but can never make myself really sit down and work on learning to do it, and thus lead a life of quiet frustration. Well, not that bad maybe, but it's a bit annoying at least =)

Here's some of my newbie attempts from my first ever life drawing class a year ago. The teacher there didnt actually teach us anything (basically had a whimsical lecture for 10 mins then went out for coffee the rest of the "lessons") but at least I got to practice drawing a real model a little =) Didnt really know what I was doing tho...

Started another class this spring where I did these. This class has a teacher that makes a real effort, unfortunatley I still don't know what I'm doing as you can see =)

Also these 10 minute paintings, was my first time painting with a brush in many years, brushes dont seem to like me =) Bad photo of sheets that are maybe 3/4 of a meter high or so, strange stuff from my dinnertable blacked out at the edges

There, that should bring down the average quality level of this thread by several notches =) Would love any kind of constructive critisism, if it's at all possible on these few and bad scans. I know the proportions on most of these are way off, that's one of the many things I know at least a little about but never practice, thus they suck when I finally sit down and draw

Truly inspiring. I just got done with a 2-hour figure drawing session and after looking at all the amazing stuff here I feel like going back. Here are a few things of mine from the past month or two:

I took an old laptop and wacom to class today. It showed me a thing or two I should try to change about my technique.

Nice things as usual here. Mon, are you still doing Lifes ?
I'm into a sketchbook phase, right now.

I'm posting some at www.Sketchcrawl.com, a fun idea.
Some of you guys might like checking the concept.

one piece of paper, paint on both sides. One is clearly the side you were supposed to paint on? Color is very mud in #2.
