Hey all - I've been getting into Painter IX and my Intuos a lot more. I recently started using oil paints, which are quite a bit of fun.
My problem comes from using brushes that are tilt-based. The way I have my set up is something like this:
I'm right handed, and hold the pen as if I were writing - and naturally gives any directional brushes a tilt that can be very difficult to control. I don't have much room to position my tablet (it sits on my lap normally), and I have to have the keyboard close for hotkeys.
So... does anyone know of a better way to hold a pen for drawing/painting?
...And does anyone have a better setup for orienting their tablet/monitor/keyboard setup? Like an easel or the like? |

Find 6. Tablet Position. He looks pretty comfortable right there I guess you can build your own stand with a little planning or buy a cheap one online. I'm in the process of designing one that I'll try to build. Gosh, wish I wasn't born with the thumb in the middle of my palm.
I'd concentrate on having the wacom and monitor in a straight line ahead so you won't strain the neck or injure yourself from working concentrated for many hours. Move the keyboard to the left. Hope this is along the lines of what you were looking for? _________________ The Dark Ages was caused by the Y1K problem. |
