the self portriat is a copy of the program of an art show i participated in recently. The picture on the program is the one I won first prize in the black and white catagory.
this is a picture i drew of my mom and i for my mother for christmas.
All crits are welcome, please. |

Hello Lil' artist, you've done a good job! The values look very nice in the first picture.
As you're obviously drawing from photos though, I would recommend you to start drawing from life.
about the first picture, I've got some crits:
Eyes are different in width. It seems as you have tried to squeeze the right eye together so it won't get "under" the hair instead of seeing the actual form.
The mouth and chin area looks more "straight" than the upper part of the face. (compare the nose(vertically) with the mouth/chin (horizontally))
The construction of a drawing is very important, a misjudged line of the construction will still show through even after hours of rendering and detailing.
Keep on drawing, you're doing good. |
