Hi guys!
Just finished my studies at The German Film School.
This is my thesis short
"Interview with Carl Hawkins"
This character was already used for another short called orkbabies
I worked on with 5 other students of the German Film School (www.orkbabies.de)
So this time I could focus on character animation without worrying about
modeling, texturing, rigging and stuff.
The character talks about my theoretical part of my thesis.
It was about believable eye animations of 3D characters.
I chose this theme cause in almost every 3D movie, series or shorts I saw the
characters stare without any focus and motivation. If the eyeanimation is bad
the character looses personality and he is no longer believable.
It was very interesting to deal with this theme and I learned a lot about
human behaviours and stuff.
I tired to use the experience I got from my theoretical part in my short animation.
The whole short took me about one month. Hope you like it!

Thanks, this one made me smile. Very expressive emotions. Because of the size and constant motion of the eyes my attention was tied to them during the whole movie. Needed to watch it second time to get the gesticulation, which helps expressing his thughts much. So does mimicry (eyebrows).
