It's beautifully crisp and extremely well rendered.
The only thing that comes to mind is that the 3 main characters seem to be a bit detached from the surroundings. As though the atmospheric ambience doesn't really affect them in any way. This is primarily apparent with the knight in the foreground. I guess with that much shininess and reflection on his armour I imagine there would be more of the blue sky reflected in the metal.
Otherwise, it's fantastic. The dragon is excellent.
Original rez I'm guessing must be larger than 4000x3000? |

Great. My only crits are what ceenda just pointed out, but they are just minor things.
The sky is gorgeous ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) _________________ "Ever forward, my darling wind." -Master Yuppa

hint can you try paint those characters VERY LOOSE to get more colours and right values. One example the grass is TOO saturated if one look on horses and people. armours dont shine? why? those are made of green aluminium? better remove smokes plz it doesnt look not even 1% right
good luck i'm not saying because I can make this better only I can see
edt no mention the background is fantastic like as from a photo ref |

Overall a great piece. The only thing is that the characters in the background seem to be very stiff. Maybe make the womans hair flow in the wind and animate that cloak on the grim reaper to create some sort of motion. The woman's arm also looks a bit awkward around the elbow..
Like Tomasis said, that's a really nice background. |

the environment is very nice!
i must agree with ceenda on this. the characters don't fit in.
i also think that the environment is a bunch of pictures put together due to a couple of indicators. the grass, a bit in the bakground, looks 'pasted on' if u know what i mean. it's irregular, and doesn't fit into the grass in the foreground. almost reminds me of the clone tool in photoshop with a hard edged brush...
on top of that, it seems as if u tried to cover up what i'm referring to with the lines of smoke.
i hope i'm wrong. please correct me if i am.
i think its a very nice piece overall though. i really admire the dragon! it's beautifully done! |

Thanks guys for your comments.
I wish I could spent more time on this piece but I couldnt
ceenda - the res of the pic was around the one U said. and Ur right, characters are bit undetailed and deosnt fit a bit.
Most elements of the picture were painted from the skratch I think 70-80%, but I've cheated here and there with texture and the stuff:) It was just a must, because of time and lot lot other stuff to do
Thanks for all your comments guys! |

Very neat. Looks like alot of work. I agree with the others about the lighting though. It's like there's no ambience lighting going on there at all. I did a silly thing and just decreased the contrast and increased the brightness and the results were favourable imho. It really brought out the smoke too. But maybe the contrast is a good thing for your purposes?
Anyhow, nice picture. |
