Some fantastic pages lately.

Francis: I've really been enjoying your fast sketches. It's cool to see some looser, faster pieces from you.

It's late and I'm tired, so this will probably suck.

francis> i agree. ur stuff is great!
ceenda> beautiful values and concept Smile

2 speedpaintings from today. done real fast at high res. so they were messy but i reduced it to a small size; thus making them seem a bit 'worked on'

1hr 30 from ref: http://entropy.blogs.com/photos/udaipur/u016.html

should've used the smooth brush for fabrics and kept the textured one for her adornments.

Here's one inspired by eyewoo's thread, but since it depicts dead crustaceans swimming in a stew of superheated chicken fetal tissue, it probably can't go in his thread... Razz

Capt Fred, I like that piece - agree with you about texture treatments.

Rolthryn: The colours in that are gorgeous! Kinda like a nice blend of Albert Bierstadt and Ryan Church.

cok3: Nice! First one doesn't load fully though. Did the file fully upload? Looks good anyway.

Mitsui: Cool pieces. Haha, recognised you on CGTalk!

-Tepox-: Awesome HomeWorld style atmosphere.

Glad people liked the last one. Here is your prize, TA-DA!.... a mystic brick. (don't use it all at once...)

when you guys paint values and saturation what logic do you use to get them right. I want to be able to control light on the canvas.

experience? haha, I dunno, it comes with that, and from observation too? I think saturation is based more on how you want your work to feel, values depend on the scene.

nice work everyone! liking some of francis' stuff Smile

Damn, you guys are inspirating!

Francis: you are on a roll lately. Great stuff!
Mitsui: I like that last one. Good sense of scale and depth.
