It premieres here (Australia) tonight. Starting with the miniseries (which I've heard was very average) and then straight into the series (which I've heard is really good).

Looking forward to it. Loved the original BSG.

I was initially on the fence with the new series; I really couldn't decide whether I liked it or not. As a kid I loved the old stuff, but the new stuff is definitely slicker and a bit more involved in terms of story and character depth.

Still on the fence? Na - I give it a thumbs up. It's pretty darn good and entertaining. Now if I can only find the time to watch it regularly. Maybe I should get Tivo or something.

It's a goofy, formulaic show. Yet, something about it compelled me to keep watching. Probably the best TV SF series since Firefly, I'd say. Can't wait for season 2.

Well, Brian, in spite of my earlier comments, I'd have to agree with you about the goofy part, but I too have felt compelled to watch. It's not too bad, although I can't seem to make of mind about the whole hallucinatory thing the doctor is going through. Good? Bad? Cheese?

As for other shows no longer in the circuit, did any of y'all ever watch Farscape? I saw a few times and kind of liked it; it was different.

Also what about Lexx? Now that was a wierd ass show, but like Galactica I found myself watching it from time to time.

Agreed on firefly, at least it seemed to have some kind of larger plotline to it. Farscape seemed to fall a bit too much into the one episode, one story-category for my liking. IMO, tv shows should be planned to start at point A and end at point B and every episode should take the story forward. Otherwise it gets boring.
