Well advice, since you asked for it -

Let me preface this by saying that I'm not a professional artist, or even a particularly good one. And I respect that you're trying something new, as I've never seen abstract pixel art before.

That being said, I don't see a reason for abstract pixel art. I don't see much in the terms of explorations of form or shape, or much that shows you're taking advantage of your medium. In terms of technical skill the picture isn't of sufficient sophistication to really make me appreciate what you're doing here. It's flat, there's little detail, and out of proportion. Finally, you don't explain what the piece actually means, not through words or by viewing. I may be in the minority for this, but abstract work really only works for me if I have some insight into why the artist is doing what they're doing for that piece.

Some people find them interesting enough to look at twice. I wish I knew exactly what this particular piece means, although it has to do with creative energy, in my view. There are more pics on my website. And humor is a small purpose in it too...

Oh, and sharpness of the image is so emphasized, imho it beats many other techniques at this.

You're treading a fine line between serious endeavor and doodling in Microsoft Paint. Remember that abstract doesn't mean "doesn't really look like anything."

Abstract art is a way of communicating something outside of its basic visual identity. Mondrian's rectangles were cityscapes. The art itself should still incorporate the same visual elements* as a more representative piece.

There's potential here, I just think you need to work on communicating an idea other than "hey! this is abstract! and pixelated!"

*line
shape
mass
space
texture
color
motion

That's a good idea. I have never been an artist in a way that I only have a very vague idea of how to promote your work. As far as doodling in MS Paint, that's not true at all. I spent lots and lots of time planning every piece, and I know exactly why it looks the way it does. It takes many hours to place every pixel right too.
