Is there someone left on this planet who can convert Delux Paint III animations into a PC readable format ?
Anyone knows something about this topic ?
These are my original amiga 500 delux paint 3 files:
http://marek.monoid.net/Amiga500.zip
These are my very first animations I did, great nostalgic value!
I grant a kiss and a egg of a dodo for the one who is able to help! please? anyone?

Rats...
I was hoping they'd be some flavor of IFF,
but no joy.
I loved my Amiga's. I hope someone comes through for you.
If you do get them converted, post them.
I'd really like to see some Amiga generated
material again. |

A program called DeBabelizer may be of help to you, but it's pretty expensive. If you know anyone at a game studio, they might have access to it. Failing that, try asking at some demoscene forums . . . a lot of those guys probably have experience with old dPaint files. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

@stacy: I will do that. Thanks for your compassion.
@balistic: just tried a free trial version of DeBabelizer, couldn't read the files either, though now I know that I did them eleven years ago, that's all the information I could get out of it. I will try your demoscene tip. thanks.

How about running dpaint on an Amiga emulator for the windows?
I believe dpaint had an option for saving an animation as single frames in IFF... could be wrong though. |

Hey-
As an ol' Amigan myself I thought I'd help out (or try to )
Just by renaming the files with the .iff extension I could view the first frame with Irfran view, so maybe they are iff anim5? If so you could try :
http://www.cosmigo.com/promotion
basically, it is dpaint on the pc |

Silber,
The 'egg' gift is SUPERB !!!
May I describe to the others, what it is?
It could give the kids in here a real boost to
see these funny little Deluxe Paint pieces and
then be able to compare them to the sophisticated
hilarious work you do now. |

@stacy: thanks! I don't know what kids you mean. No problem showing it to friends and so. I just don't want it to be posted on the internet, at least not now, maybe to a later occasion (good reason for this). _________________ marek |

wahahaha that's great
Now the problem is how did you transfer those files ?
I used to have a program with the parrallel port havent tried for a while, and I hope it will still work on XP Any recent program to transfer files that work on XP ? On Amiga basically I needed a 700kb or something PC disk that could be read, not the high density ones, with the amiga program to install. Then the PC exe, then the parrallel cable..
in the same vien, I used a Amiga Emulator like someone mentioned above, bout 3 years ago, to get screencaps of a lil game I was making on Amiga, that I made the graphics for as well, and I joined the caps in a gif anim utility and put the gif into a 'portfolio' cd for a job
(it was using 'dual playfield' mode so it was 7 colors on front + transparent, and 8 colors on background)
aah old times.. I dont even know if my A1200 still works, boy, it had a 20 MB harddrive !! _________________ "I'm not a shrimp, I'm a KING PRAWN !" -- Pepe.

@fab sweet hedgehog you got there!
about the transfere problem: I beg a student collegue to transfere the data from amiga disk to PC. He has an amiga 1200, which seems to be able to read both disk types, not sure about it though. I aksed if someone is able and he said yes he can. I heard about another method, something about modifying the PC floppy drive.
Did you finished the game actually? You have more stuff? _________________ marek |
