I would say this is kinda inspiring. This is why I love Flash. You can zoom in and see all details you've drawn.

It's realy fantastic! It's very profesional looking. I bet you could easily find a job being an animator with your talent, once there, maybe you could try an get a group together or something. _________________ I just realised that my screen name is Wagner, but my last name is Wagner, I'm not making any references to anyone. |

man,
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS HERE!!
I had been thinking for a while..."hey, I wonder if you can blend After Effects and Flash together?"
I've seen majors do it...with poor results actually (The "Alias" cartoon)...but, to see you do it from your "bedroom"? Inna matter of weeks? Hats of to you.
Well, to welcome you to THE FORUM...
I'd like to know more about your process though if you don't mind:
1) I saw that you animate traditionally with a pretty nice clean up. Do you scan and trace over your drawings or do you just run 'em through Streamline? Do you pencil test at home as well or just time your drawings out in Flash.
2) The backgrounds look great but they don't appear to be "colored" in Flash. Photoshop maybe? And are you vectorizing the linework of the BGs like you did the characters or just leaving them ruff.
3) I like the ghosting blur effect that seems to linger between frames. I'm not too familiar with After Effects' inner workings...but, please elaborate on how this is done.
4) Also, you seem to be taking advantage of After Effects' 3D capabilities. Could you expand on your texture mapping process. Particularly in the piece you did for the Annecy.
5) What about your sound? Using Premier or another actual Sound Program?
Other than that, man,
WHEN CAN WE EXPECT TO SEE MORE?
If you crank out projects like these inna matter of weeks....hell...
seems like the movies already in THE CAN.
Peace. |

wow, I loved both of these anims. The animation in Citeria was so slick and professional. Great . Wish the movies on the site were a little higher resolution though, so I could see the details and stuff easier. But awesome stuff and it's definitely |

Hello,
I am very happy for your welcome.
I really appreciate your comments.
I am going to try to answer to your questions (sorry, but my english level is very bad..) : I scan the cleaned draws beacuse according to me even if I have a good wacom, I dont have the precision that I want. After, I vectorise the cleaned stroke.
I use Flash to assemble and I make colors and some correction and also some animation, for example the hairs of the barbarian in Le cycle des 9 Lunes.
I use After Effect for the FX (run, fog, lightning, blurs) and also to strain the image and that permit me that the image was less informatic.
Concerning the large movements of camera (annecy) I prefer Combustion which has a best control of camera.
I use Premiere only for the assembling and mixing of the sound.
I hope my explanations are clears. If you have any other questions, you can tell me by mail.
I am in contact with producers concerning Citeria and I hope that the production of this movie is going to start ! I am finding some other fionancial investors and if you know persons who could help me, it was nice to tell me. |

Great stuff, nice animation. Hope you get to fully realise your visions in longer format film.
You had some Prodigy music there and the Citeria track I recognized as well. Be careful about using copyrighted stuff if you're making any money with these someday. |

Bonjour cher Rv,
