I've been forever looking for a way to work with 2 windows of the same image in Corel Painter IX (I like working with the same image viewed in and on "actual pixel"). In Adobe Photoshop it's done via ----> Window -> Arrange -> New Window for "imagefilenamegoeshere.psd". I was wondering if anyone here could tell me how to do it in Painter or if Painter even has it. |

The info palette (Window>Show Info) has a small picture of your image, actualized with every stroke you apply to the original.
At the bottom bar, there's another small window (the binoculars) that does the same, but it is useful (imo) than the other one. _________________ _ _ _____ _ _

Others have told you what's available and I'll add a little more detail:
There's no dynamic view of your image in Painter IX except in the Info palette.
Click the Navigator icon at the lower left corner of the image window to pop up a larger (but still small) view of the entire image. You'll see a red rectangle defining the area of the image currently displayed in the image window. Click and drag the red rectangle to navigate to another area of the image that will then be displayed in the image window. Click in the image to close the Navigator image.
To see your image in its current state, use File > Clone. If the image is not at 100% zoom, click the "M" key to activate the Magnifier tool then click Actual Pixels, or double click the Magnifier tool icon in the Tools palette.
Those are the three available ways to view your image in addition to viewing the actual image.

i guess painter doesn't have what I'm looking for. I was looking for a dynamic window that had a controllable zoom feature to it (so i can see the image looks like zoomed out while working on details zoomed in). but thanks guys, atleast now i can stop reading and searching through the programs help topics. |
