Something isn't right here, I know I shouldn't have made this thing into such shape, well...
I want it to stand well, but I am also having problems adding stuff above the horizon. Is this painting a mistake? I mean should I keep going?
here is another possibility
... Depressing
And another try
...

I think what's blocking your progress on this pic is that you're set on the way things look at the moment. Personally I don't see very much interesting with a bunch of mountains on a pillar int he middle of the ocean. I would start another compostion with the same idea, only figure out how to make it look more dynamic. sice it's on a pillar and up high, maybe looking at it from below and getting a foreshortened scene. If you want to keep the ocean around it, amybe a view from up high like you're flying. What I'm trying to get at is to make it look a little more dynamic, make it fill more of the page. Even if it's cropping the current pic and turning the picture frame the other way. I think looking at it that way would help it alot more, just by the shape of the border pushing the mountains higher into the sky visually.
Anyway, enough verbal diarrea, keep at it, maybe add some mist or something. This could be a great pic and it's an awesome idea. _________________ "It's not the tools you use but how you use them that counts." |

use [ / img ] instead of url
sme 's images (fixed links) :
Looks good!
Just random ideas : try tilting the image sideways a little add some movement to the waves in the sea, the pillar will not be vertical, dont know if that will help or not, add some flocks of birds up there to show theres life there, .. increase contrast ,add detail to the horizon on the sea so it looks like you'r looking really far into it _________________ "I'm not a shrimp, I'm a KING PRAWN !" -- Pepe.
