sorry about the quality, these were taken with a cellphone camera... Digicam is broken sadly.

First one is a month or so ago actually, the man is from today's class.
The woman was charcoal, and the man pencils. I struggle with both.

this is a painting im working on.Its a reproduction of one of Hollis's paintings.I think im going to do acouple of them. These 2 images are taken at the same stage of painting. One just has less glair then the other.Ive been working on it for about 3 hours and it still has a ton of work to be done to it.Please feel free to give me any suggestions or changes i should make.

This weekend the Seattle Academy of Fine Art held their annual drawing jam... several models, a bunch of rooms with different length poses. All but the first drawing are from a session where there were 2 men and 2 women who went through a few costume changes. The dancing poses were especially fun. poses were from 3 -5 minutes.

1st session out of 2...but skipped showing alot of the progress. Sorry...oh yeah...thats my little 1 hour thumbnail in the corner...hehe.

stop looking at the hand...it'll get fixed. (lol)

nice work everybody.

lubracasi: the values look about right. Something that I'm slowly learning since this is my 3rd month painting with oils (and real brushes for that matter Confused ) is to let the paint spill over the edges. Meaning fill it up, and if it spills over...it's okay...becuz you're gonna handle those as edge refinements later.

Also, copying is ok...but, why not go to life painting class and see if you can't emulate the "style" on new subject matter... i.e., another model, another lighting situation, and fresh perspective. I'd think you learn more that way. Wink

Keep it up!!

OK - is there anyway to clean up the dead links - they are very irritating!

Hi everybody! GREAT STUFF! I'd like to join the fun.

Btw, I using Photobucket, it's always posting my pictures small, not full size, any help?

This is a 45 minute pose but I finished it a little earlier.

3min ...Why does this nasty yellow drawing get to be full size?

Charcoal

Lucabrasi, it seems deviantart doesn't allow direct linking to images. At least I couldn't see the pictures until I went to the URLs manually. In any case, I like the middle one with the brass pot.
