Being partially inspired by the excellent pictures in this thread over the last few weeks, I decided to post one of my results as well - it's tiny though :P

I specially signed up with this board to say what an excellent artwork you guys produce! Awesome!

Unfortunately I do 3D art so I can't post my stuff here Crying or Very sad
But if you're curious anyway, please check my latest work (P-51D Mustang) here:

or my website here:
www.skyraider3d.com

O wait, there is something 2D I can show. It's a crappy old painting I made when I was 17. But maybe you might still like it Smile
Admittedly it's not a digital painting (gouache), but it was scanned, hehe. Does that count? Razz

It shows a Romanian PZL P.37 bomber under attack by Soviet I-15 and I-16 fighters.

Keep up the good work, guys! Very Happy

Cheers,

Ronnie

PS. To the guy who told us about Nazis making flying saucers: they're a 1970s hoax! Laughing
Only one flying saucer was made and it's hardly spectacular:
http://www.luft46.com/misc/sackas6.html
I'm trying to recreate it in 3D, but the project's been on hold for awhile now... Rolling Eyes

Thanks John! Love your stuff, by the way! Real "arty"! I'm more technical, I'm afraid...

Tempest and MiG-15 aren't mine, but maybe you're relating to the work of a friend of mine. He made a MiG-15 and a Sea Fury (not Tempest, but as close as it gets!)
http://www.luijken.com
Same style? Interesting... He uses Lightwave and I use 3DSMAX Smile

By the way, I once started a similar post on CGTalk: "Post Your Aircraft". It's mostly 3D stuff though and unfortunately it's closed now Sad
However it's still viewable and there are no less than 942(!!!) posts stuffed with aviation art to admire Very Happy
http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=39835
Enjoy!

I thought this thread needed a jump start. I have to get the plane stuff out of my head. The 1930's racing planes are just my favorite thing.

Hi All, this is my first post here after discovering this site and going through all 21 pages of this awesome Propeller thread.

I am an aviation art nut and have a website dedicated to aviation art called eHangar.com with some 1,500 aviation art images by some of the world's best professional and amateur aviation artists.

From what I've seen here, there are many talented artists here and I am in awe of your talents *salute!*

I've not really given myself a chance to draw much in the last 20 years but one day I will, especially with daily inspirations from this site and mine.

My personal favourite aviation subjects are those from WWII and I have especially enjoyed the work of Mark Harris, Red Dog and lowpolymatt, amongst others too many to list here. Keep up the great work and I look forward to more awesome work from you artists here!

Capt. Flush: Nice stuff Very Happy far beyond what I'm capable of.

I don't know if this had been established (I didn't want to read the other pages)...but the germans were working on something similar to what you posted in the jungle pic on the first page I believe. If I'm right and this isn't a myth they wanted a fast plan that could deliver a really really big payload...and for that they needed a different design. anyway back to painting more of my stuff...

Keep it up - to draw/paint directly in Photoshop needs practise.

Meanwhile to draw digitally feels better to me than with a real pencil.

Capt.FlushGarden - that's an awesome painting! Do you paint in oils or other traditional media as well?
