BTW, I'm color blind...I'm not trying to make a joke. My friends tell me my stuff always looks "off". I dunno what to do though, it's fun for me anyway! =) I try to focus more on value, but it's hard when everything looks so muddy. I guess that's why I usually focus on traditional black/white charcoal or pen/ink. Contrasty. Or I have my girlfriend or client pick the colors, and I see what I can come up with. Wanted to try something new though, and Digital Art is just wonderful!

trying to concentrate on colors more then the actual anatomy of t he painting... 30 mins ref used...
@fab, thanks. im teaching myself art... and being 17, with no art teacher to help u, and not ever having an art class is hard. lol. i wish i had art classes. so i have lots of trouble lighting. thats y i paint everyday and try to get my colors down right. i finally think im making progress

@Matthew, wow, great watercolor-experiment!
@Spooge, like your earlier Halo-Version better!
nice you removed a bit from the oversharpening and added the alien-weapon. But now the values of the ground are exact the same as the men's lower parts ... in thumbnail-version you can hardly tell the difference - the lower half of the picture has no definition anymore.

I think Im understanding the whole "speedpainting" idea now, and it only took me 100 tries...
more looking, less painting
Im probably not though, who knows.
