It was bound to happen.
I'm not disgusted, I'm not shocked, I'm not surprised.

In the end it's up to us people to decide what to do with this new area of science. Knowing the general techno-phobia and God-loving zealots running amok in this world, it'll all get fucked up beyong belief... Pity.
I await with curiosity.

Well, they can turn me into a rat, but I don't know about approximately 90% of the rest of the population of the world. They have about the brains of chickens, wouldn't you say? (I'm talking mostly about the "idiotic teens")

Everything can go bad or good. Even drinking a glass of water you might choke and die.

If we stop now because a few have issues, it might make any new discoveries more difficult.

So, why not?

This just poses so many questions.

Where is the borderline between being a doctor and healing people and being an engineer and creating perfect people?
The whole cloning is being done in the name of medicine. And to a certain degree it is of course. But it goes beyond that and can have a huge impact on our society.

Is this something we just have to let happen or do we need to stop it? If so what will and what will not be allowed. And how the hell are we going to come up with an ethical code that is accepted worldwide?

What will the world be like when health, intelligence and good looks are a thing that can be bought?

We have been going down that road already with plastic surgery and certain attractive or intelligent people selling their eggs or semen for huge sums of money.

It's just horrifying. It disgusts me to no end.

Well; we'd all be smart, healthy, and intelligent.

Now, Listen to this!

I want to know how this backwards method of cloning skirts around the whole incest thing.

I want to know why people make such a big fuss over cloning and not genetically engineered babies. It's my opinion that a race of superbabies would be far more devastating than a bunch of in-bred progeny.

I want to know why people look more to the moral entanglements than the medical complications abound in this process.

I want to know why people act so outraged and surprised when the 'news' was announced.

I want to know why people assume that cloning will suddenly become widespread, when in fact the majority of the world could not afford the procedure.

I want to know why people want to clone themselves. I see it as the equivalent of encasing your dead pet in a bronze statue; a gimmick, serving no purpose other than self-amusement.

My question is: why would you want to clone a human?? Most of us have very little in the way of brains, so you'd have twice as many stupid people running around to torture the smart people.

Then clone one of the smart people...

I don't really care at all about this, I think its good that they experiment on these things.

I could never understand why they banned it? Can someone clear that up with me?

This is me guessing, but the major reason behind banning human cloning (beyond the ethical aspect) is the risk. So far they've cloned a lamb, and it's already starting to show signs of premature aging and with a lamb, you can't exactly be sure if it's "normal" mentally or not . To jump from a lamb straight to human testing/cloning would be a major risk to take. For the mother and the child. That was the outrage caused in the scientific circle.

Yeah sure..they would just inject you with some dna and you would suddenly become intelligent?
The new generation will be. So where will that put us? Or the 99 percent of the world that won't be able to afford it?

We will be competing with a master race.

It's the same thing. Cloning is where the dna of an egg is replaced by whatever you want it to be. Thus you are able to pick what it will grow up to.

IMO... stuff religion, what has it done to the human race...um bloodshed..look at the palastian and isreali, america and taliban?!!...i beleive sometime in the future sceince will lead to better the human race.

..but i do believe that there is a God out there...but i dont think God is a selfabsobed-egomaniac that want to be worship but to just want us to acknowledge his there and to live are live rightly(if there is such a word)

Imo the human race in itself is already a nightmare scenario. Might as well risk an orwell world order and opt for eugenics. Ie. nothing much to lose.
