heh, great idea, mr captain!
but dang, one second ago you just had a thumbnail-like image here, and now it s a tight pic in big format- you make me ashamed to post this... but how did ya get it that tight? some kind of vectorization or something?
not that simpsons-esque, i should have done more research about linethickness, shading and all that to do better. but it just was some inbetween fun while writing on a documentation for fuckin university.

Whicked styles! great that u joined the thread! about the lines, if i had Illustrator 10 i would do it in that program but in photoshop you can use the pen tool to create paths, and then choose a desired brush size and the path can draw with the chosen brush size!
It's really hard to make simpsons figures aint it? you could think that its easy cause they looks so simple ,but nooooo! _________________ www.johnliberto.com |

thank you, captain. and i forgot: your simpson perfectly fits the style!
and yes, it is damn hard to do these, i thought i could do that in half an hour, but honestly it took me about three times longer.
doing cartoon styles in relation to a special style means a lot of research before, which i didn't do. every style has got his very special handling of perspective and just a handful of typical poses and a very strict represention of form with lines and light and shade. if you re not that straight and don't follow the rules perfectly, every child can see that the drawing doesn't "fit". but whom do i tell this? me. _________________ known as "ChrisNix" elsewhere. |

yeah you're totally right about that! I had to sit down and look at alot of characters to se what was similar about them and wich ones had things that reminded me of myself, my first version had a chin, but then i realized that i couldn't find ANY simpson character with a chin, (correct me if im wrong, maybe jay leno had one? ) they all have a simple curving to the throat, nothing more, so there's another thing u can't use to make it look like yourself, very difficult! _________________ www.johnliberto.com |

cool idea, its hard to draw yourself in a few lines and dont make it look flat. first one i did looked like TinTin and this ones too angular, must try again later.

Looks like fun! I think the most Simpson-y ones are the chinless ones. |
